Clarins Passion Face Palette Review

I like Clarins presentation of items quite old school sophisticated.  So their Festive Collection pieces were no exception. I bought the Face Palette from this range which arrived in a red box with the palette inside complete with the rich red velvet pouch.

The Palette is encased in a gold and red swirly case.  The case is quite strong and heavier than it looks. Complete with a mirror to.

Voila this is how the Passion Face Palette looks, now you have a light beige powder with gold dotted in between.  The gold is extremely shimmery but once you lightly dust over the palette with a powder brush the heavier layer of gold goes and your left with a much paler pink beige powder. So the look you are due to achieve with this is an illuminated skin with a flawless finish.
So what did I achieve??

I had massive high hopes for this for lots of reasons mainly due to me loving everything I've bought previously From Clarins, which hasn't been a lot but I have liked what I've had.
So it's with sadness I have to say, I was very under whelmed by this palette, WHY?  I tried the powder all over my face after my foundation, I had prepped my skin as usual with moisturiser so normally I achieve a nice false glow with what I normally use, but with this powder I had nothing. I could not even tell I had added anything onto my skin. I tried it on my face with no makeup and I couldn't even see it on my face,  I haven't swatched  it on my hand or my face to show you as I didn't look any different and you couldn't see it on my hand either.

It's not to say this palette/powder won't be lovely and show stopping for someone else it could be your life saviour, it's just not mine.  Don't forget what looks good on someone else may not on me or you,  so I would check at a counter if you think it's worth a shot.
You may have guessed I won't be re purchasing.
