Make-Up Brush Storage Solutions

When it comes to storing makeup especially if you tend to buy quite a bit of it, it can be a nightmare putting it places, especially when you are sharing cupboards with bubble baths and shampoos and kids bath toys. So I just tended to keep all my eyeliners etc in a makeup bag but in the mornings It took me ages looking for things.

So I had been looking for some storage ideas for a while, there are loads of good storage ideas on the net, and a lot of bloggers like Muji and bits from Ikea which to do, until I came across these little beauts.

I bought these little pots from Wilkinsons
they are sold as Nostalgia Metal Pen holders priced at £2.50 very reasonable I think.

I've put my eyeliners and lip liners in one, brushes in the second and you can see the third is empty that will be for my huge blusher and bronzer brushes when I get them

What do you think?

What do you like to use to store your makeup?

Chanel Mystique Rouge Coco Review

Now and again you discover a lipstick that you love the colour of and you just love for so many reasons.  You pray it won't be discontinued or when you go to get it your not greeted with "sorry we haven't got any left"
And for me this lipstick is one of my favs:

I don't know many people who don't like a Chanel lipstick, yes the price is off putting but for a treat you have to have one.

Mystique is just beautiful it's the perfect shade for any season as the colour is perfect.  I can only describe the colour as a peachy/goldish tone which I think would suit nearly everyone.  I chose it as I tend to wear beiges, light pinks or red so thought this would be different and I'm glad I did,

Why not give it a go next time you pass a Chanel counter.

See you soon

Tom Ford She Wolf Palette Review

There's only one person I blame for this purchase other than myself: it's the lovely Ella from Hello Wonderful blog. I don't know how she does it she always finds amazing things.

She found this fab palette by Tom ford and I was hooked I wanted it.  But could I get it: no, it was no where to be found. But a lightbulb came on in my head ebay.  So I found a seller from America who had it her feedback was 100% and hello paypal.

So a different colour for me as I've never done greys before but I think it's ok.

What do you think?

My Beauty Compare Price Comparison Site

I've been introduced to a new website called My Beauty Compare perfect for online beauty shopping who doesn't like that?
So what's the purpose and what brands are available?

Firstly there's a huge range of brands from premium to everyday so more than likely whatever you use would be available.  So if your a fan of say Bobbi Brown products you would just click on Bobbi Brown and the site will bring up a variety of products and links to other sites where they are available and at what price how fab is that?

Not only does the site offer this but there is a personalised quiz where you click on what eye colour you have, skin type, climate you live etc to find out what products are suited to you. I think this is genius as normally for things like this you have to go directly to a beauty counter, this gives you a virtual beauty counter.

Personally as a working mother I find it much easier to shop online as I haven't got a lot of time to go beauty shopping so for me this is ingenious, not only that I always scour the Internet for product reviews and My Beauty Compare also offers product reviews to.

This is a clever site so for more info or to take the quiz yourself::: have a look at:

My Beauty Compare and see for yourself.

Disclaimer: xxThis is not a sponsored post I haven't been paid for this, all thoughts are my own, I've written it as I was asked if I would like to, it's good experience for me. Xx

Keeping Warm But Stylishly

I'm not a big fan of January for so many reasons, it's depressing after Christmas, it's the longest month ever, and it's always freezing.  Poor America has been battered by arctic conditions and I'm sure we
will get some sort of chill from it. Brrrr.

So when it's freezing does looking good and stylish still matter, well that's up to you and you alone.  But personally I think so as long as I'm warm.  Who hates shivering well not me.

So what can you wear that still gives you the style element but is practical but warm at the same time.

I've chosen a few pics and added them to my collage above.
What have I chosen?
From the top a cream warm wooly jumper from New look smart but will be warm especially if you layer with a vest top underneath.
And grey skinny jeans a nice alternative to black these are from Asos.
A black faux fur cape from Miss Guided which I think look lovely with jeans.
A black fedora which is 100% wool so will keep your head
warm and look funky at the same time.  Personally I hate it when it's so cold you actually think your brain has frozen so a stylish hat is a good investment this one is from Debenhams
Following with a good pair of boots, I haven't chosen heels as typically in January it's wet, icy, and or snowy so unless you want to look like bambi heels are a big no.
And then lastly out of my reach financially but one of the most gorgeous tartan handbags I've seen in a while from Vivienne westward.

So keeping warm doesn't have to be boring

River Island Parka Review

I had spotted this parka on the River island website weeks and weeks ago, but couldn't afford the £110.00 price tag as was buying christmas presents at the time.

My sister came down over Christmas and said how much she really wanted this coat in River Island and described it, I couldn't believe it when she described exactly this one.

So armed with "we need it" searched the Internet from top to bottom looking for the coat, but couldn't find it anywhere. So we resorted to phoning River Islands head office, by now we were desperate.  To our disappointment they had completely sold out.  Waa waa we wailed.  You can't do that to two desperate shoppers.

I then thought maybe they got them on EBay and they did so christmas money up in smoke and I bought it.  It did cost me a little more than in the shop but I'm so glad I got it.  It's my favourite coat right now, really heavy, fur lined, and smarter than any parka I've seen, hence probably the reason it sold out everywhere.

Cath Kidston 2014 Diary Review

I had been after a new diary for ages and normally I pick one up well before December ready to start the new year.  Last year I had a really small one, it was lovely and perfect for my handbag but I could hardly put anything in it as it was so small.

So after scouring the shops and the net I finally decided on something a little different to normal for me.  I chose a Cath Kidston one.  I saw it online at John Lewis so I ordered it.  I chose to click and collect it, which meant delivery to my nearest Waitrose was free the next day, so all I had to do was go into my Waitrose store with a text message from John Lewis and I was able to collect the diary.

So what is it like. Well in typical Cath Kidston style it's floral, with a plastic cover, to keep it tidy, what I like about it is there is lots of sections in it. The beginning is all the months, which I've added everyone's birthdays in, then there is week by week pages which I will use for work and blogging, at the back there is a section for addresses and lots of pages for notes.

This is available now and costs £15.00 yes it is quite a lot for a diary, but I needed a bigger one, I will be using it every day, plus it's pretty, so I think it's just about worth it.

Chanel Precision Eye Definer In Gris Scintillant

Hi everyone hope you are all well and having a good start to the new year.
I'm trying not to buy loads of things but I did say after Xmas that I was going to get some things as Xmas was all about the kids.
So this is something I wanted since before Xmas as I think it's really pretty and a bit different to what I normally would use.

So what is it, it the gorgeous Chanel Eye Definer or eye liner in a stunning dark smokey but sparkling grey.

I love the fact you always get a sharpener with a Chanel liner I think that's brill, little touches but it's a good idea.

You can see the swatch on my hand its a dark grey with silver flecks in it, I think it's a grown up sparkle and not too much for a day time look.
My eyes are hazel so I'm hoping it will suit the colour, I think grey colours suit most eye colours, so I can't wait to give it ago....
