Clinique Dark Spot Defense Review

Hey guys hope you are all well, I've got bit of a bug at the minute so feeling a bit sorry for myself but on the plus it's doing wonders for my weight loss which is surprisingly going well.
It's also a good time to start writing up some reviews of things that I've been trying out lately.
I bought the Clinique Dark Spot Defense after reading about it on one of my fav bloggers posts by Adrienne from thesundaygirl she had raved about it. I trust her opinions as she's honest but obviously I have my own opinion and needed to give it a go myself.

So I ordered it, Clinique's packaging is clean and not to fussy.  The cream is in a white tube with the silver lid. Which is in a 30ml size.

So what is the purpose of a tube of a dark spot defense.
Well in my books a huge purpose, the cream is SPF: 45, so in sun protection terms very
high.  Basically exposing your skin
unprotected can cause your skin to come out in dark spots especially as your skin ages and
can make you look older than you are.

People often neglect their face and skin whilst they are home, and just stick the sun cream on when they go abroad, but the key is now to stick an SPF on daily.
So I've been doing this now and feel better for it.  The tube has a nozzle at the top to squeeze the cream out which looks a little like a tinted moisturiser, you shake well and squeeze some onto your hand.
I blend into my face, this cream is so lightweight it soaks in really quickly and disappears, I then apply my normal makeup.
The best thing about this is that my face didn't feel caked or blocked with product it's a must, if you haven't got it I suggest getting it.

Do you use an SPF daily?

Crabtree & Evelyn Beauty Blogger Event

Last week I was invited to an event at Crabtree&Evelyn
My first impressions of the shop is it's gorgeous sparkling clean and everything set out beautifully I can't believe I had never set
in this store before I'm shamed.
The staff were friendly and even more
important knew what they were talking about, with product knowledge of everything.
Some of my faves were for the men:  the INDIAN SANDALWOOD fragrance is amazing and in my opinion this is a mens must.
Also for us girls PERSIAN THE fragrance it's a Eau de Parfum so you know the smell will last thus wasn't a cheap one by any means costing over £100 however as a gift I guarantee you would love this.

Did you know Crabtree & Evelyn did nail varnishes I had no idea either, my ignorance was bliss when it came to this store that in fact before I went I expected the store to be stocked with just soaps.
We were treated to hand treatments which were absolutely amazing, and when we left we were kindly given a gift bag stocked with loads of lovely things.
My visit to this store was extremely pleasurable and at least now I'm aware of what's available I think a visit is a must for Fathers Day.

Three Watches Im Loving

I think it's time for me to get a watch, I rely on
my phone for the time and then half the time my battery has run out and I have no idea what time it is.

I've bought loads of costume watches in the past from lots of clothes stores but I love them and get kind of bored with them, am I the only one who does that?

So maybe now it's time to invest in a classic stylish watch.  I've had my eye on the top one for a while which is the Armani Watch and I really like that one because it's smart and has little diamonds around the numbers.

The next one is the Marc Jacobs in a Rosé Gold colour I like this one because it's bold but still smart and I love the colour rose gold.

The last one is a brand that's been around for a while by Rotary this is def a classic kind of wear to work watch.

Can you help me decide?

What's Your Red Carpet Style?

As part of a competition run by houseoffraser I created my red carpet style look.  I don't think there are too many rules to what you wear as long as it's suiting to you, plus I don't think anything too revealing is a good look.

To complete my look I've added my Red Carpet must and this is red lipstick mine is from HouseOfFraser and it's by Chanel called Passion it's one of my favourites.

Who doesn't love a bit of dressing up?

What's your fav item to get smartened up in?

Sunday Chilling With Yankee Candles

Nothing beats a Sunday morning especially when the suns out, and a bit of chilling out on a sunday is good to.
I think people normally would associate lighting candles or tea lights with cold chilly dark nights but I don't think you need to wait for those nights you can light a candle whenever you want.

I stick Kiss Fm on light my tea lights and then do some cleaning in between sipping some herbal tea.  No I'm no health freak but I'm trying ha ha.

I'm loving the Margarita Time tea lights at the minute, the only trouble is smells so nice that I'm not sure whether I want to eat or drink them, I can imagine sitting on a balcony in New York with these lit, I've got a vivid imagination.
So this is my sunday mornings what's yours?

Thomas Sabo Beaded Charm Bracelet

I recently had my birthday and I had kind of
said quite a few times (loads actually) about my love of ThomasSabo I did kind of say that I loved nearly all of it hint hint.

This is not a sponsored post or anything I'm just sharing my love of all things glittery and pretty.

My friend bought me the bracelet on my post today as my keepsake.
Apparently this range is new in and my friend thought I would like it.  And she was so right.

The bracelet is a lovely pink cream and black colour and she bought me a charm to go on it which is an L for my initial. There's space for three charms altogether, so I've got space for two more YIPEE.

So I was a lucky girl in sure you would agree, I think come payday I may venture to get the Karma Beads that ThomasSabo have brought out .

Have you had any nice keepsakes?

Stila One Step Colour Correct

I'm always a fan of something to use as a
base for foundation and something that's colour correcting, I've had my eye on the Stila
One Stop Colour Corrector.

Looking at the bottle the product looks mad a bit like a twisted coloured marshmallow.  The bottles plastic so handy to carry round with you, or for travelling at least you know it's not going to smash in your bag like some things can.
So why all the colours? Well the green is the colour correction bit, the pink is the brightness
and the clearer is the highlight.

You can see from the swatch I've put on my hand the colours are all into one when you squeeze it out,

Application wise the product rubs in well so is a good base for foundation, it doesn't cover imperfections like spots or scars, but then it's not supposed to its not a concealer.
In terms of colour correcting I haven't got a massive issue with redness but then I have got it, it did a fair job of covering what I've got.
In terms of brightening again I think it did a fair job for me as well as a small amount of brightening.
I've used this on my skin everyday now for two weeks after I bought this in
HarveyNicholls. In London.

I don't think I would buy it again, I'm not saying it's not a good product or anything I just feel it didn't do enough for me, don't forget on your skin it just might be what you need don't write it off.

Liz Earle Superskin Hand Serum

Im a huge fan of lizearle products nothing from the range has so far broken me out or irritated me so that's a good thing.  I was introduced to Liz Earle through a work colleague I had never heard of the brand.  I did think it was for older ladies who am I kidding at my age of 40 ahem, anyway now I'm hooked and use a range of their products which il tell you about in the future.  I'm so easily distracted now back to the Superskin Hand Serum

I didn't even know that there were serums for the hands did you?
But I thought I'm plastering my face with allsorts to help that keep looking as young as I can, so what about the hands?  And you do see a lot of ladies with youthful skin and then the hands give them away!!!
The hand serum is packed with good stuff like cranberry seed and rosehip oils. I can tell you this stuff smells lovely, nice and herbally like skipping through fields! Ha ha
It's quite a runny product as you can see from my picture but then you don't need that much that only to show you how it looks.
I keep it by my bed in my drawers which looks like Boots, and massage a little amount onto my hands.
Is it good?
It's bloody brilliant, it's made a huge difference to my dry scaly hands. They are now soft and plump and I do not lie.
I'm just making sure I remember to use it every night?
Have you tried this?

L'Occitane Dry Skin Foot Cream

I have been using L'Occitane Shea butter hand cream for ages it's moisturising and keeps my hands soft.  So with this in mind I bought the foot cream, on the same lines as the hand cream, this contains Shea butter to but not as much, also arnica which is good for

soothing and calming down redness, also lavender oil to.
I've used this foot cream every night for two weeks and my feet are definitely softer than they were, I use mine after the bath when my feet are still warm. The cream soaks in really well and doesn't leave them feeling tacky or slippery.
The lavender smell comes out when you massage the cream onto your feet I like this smell especially before going to bed.

I've noticed a slight improvement in my dry cracked heels and hopefully they will improvement as long as I keep moisturising.
I think this cream would be lovely for people who are on their feet every day as it is soothing.
I've used thicker foot creams and I think personally I would prefer this cream if there was more Shea butter in but still it is a nice foot cream.

My only negative moan is I do not like the tube It reminds me of a toothpaste tube which I'm not keen on.

Funk Up Your Hair::: Fudge Iced Coconut Hair Spray

Hey beauts hope you are all ok, I've been on a bit of a quest to find products to give my hair some volume.  I'm stuck with that dreadful fine hair that does nothing but sits on my head and looks horrible.

The trouble is there is a lot of it considering its fine but it's a disaster.  I know you guys with thick hair will say I hate thick hair and it takes ages to dry etc.  what can we do eh?

Anyway on that quest I picked up the Fudge. Iced coconut cocktail hairspray.
Does it help with volume then?

Well it promises 48 hour hold, does it do that?
Well I trialled it on my hair with as much volume as I could get in my hair and sprayed it quite far away from my head,  the smell is gorgeous as described a light coconut smell: lovely, kept my hair in place all night, although my hair did feel a bit product thick by that I mean a bit unmoveable, but if it meant my hair looked good I wouldn't/didn't care about this.
I also used this on a sleek hairstyle so no volume in their I made sure I sprayed it really lightly:: I liked this,
Would I buy this product again: yes as long as I get the spraying element right,

Have you tried this?

Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme

This is a lovely moisturiser perfect for hydration and as a base under your foundation.
I bought the serum that goes underneath this but I found that to be quite drying so I've stopped using that and I just use the creme.
In my humble opinion the claims that it protects hydrates and illuminates are true, well they work for me.  My skin is combination with a bit of sensitivity and this creme leaves my skin feeling soft and relaxed.  Hmmm just like me.
I'm not sure if it will be enough for me now I've moved into my forties but for younger skin I think this will be so nice.
The cream is very fragranced so if you don't like creams that smell this isint for you.

If your scared to buy it before trying I would say pop into a store that stocks chanel mostly the staff are really helpful and I'm sure they will stick some in a jar for you to try.
