Tom Ford Black Orchid Christmas Gift Ideas

Hello guys so here is another segment to my ideas for Christmas for you, this is the third week of a fragrance dropped in, I'm a big fan of fragrances and I know from working in Boots before a lot of you are big fragrance and aftershave lovers to.  I used to love it when men came into the store literally days coming before Christmas looking for inspiration for there daughters wives or girlfriends or family member.  My favourite thing to be asked was what perfume do you wear or what perfume do you like??

So today I am talking about the iconic Tom Ford Black Orchid Spray sometimes I feel that this scent has been referred to as marmite people either absolutely love it or hate it not many inbetweens, personally I hate marmite I'm completely not even on the shelf with this I really hate it.  But with this scent I have to be honest I was on the shelf I wasn't sure for months whether i liked it.  Here is what the scent us described as.

A luxurious and sensual fragrance of rich, dark accords and an alluring potion of Black Orchids, and spice, Tom Fords black orchid is both modern and timeless.  bottled in fluted black glass black orchid makes an unforgettable statement of iconic style and worldly glamour.

This to me is a completely perfect  discription of the fragrance for me at first I found it to heady and strong and made me feel quite sick, but then as sometimes I'm an over sprayer I've learnt less is more with this one as the scent is not a light one you only need a little bit. If your a light perfume fan this is not for you or a floral lover again this is not for you.  In my opinion this is not a day time fragrance either this is definitely an evening scent.  As I mentioned before about my over spraying I take this much lighter now and spray a little bit before going out, some of my friends say to me you have got that perfume on again haven't you, that to me means it's very recognisable, it definitely is distinctive but they great thing about perfume is they smell different on us all, one scent that might not smell  nice on you may smell amazing on someone else or vice versa.

Why I like this, to me now I've got used to being gentle with the spraying I think this is so unique and classy I feel like a proper grown up with this on, and it reminds me of a lady with a bright lip and some sharp black tailoring on.  It's definitely a conversation starter scent.

So with this one as I would say to anyone go and spray it first walk around shopping for half an hour and then smell I bet you will be hooked.

This is available at John Lewis Tom Ford and currently there is money off to woo hoo..

Hope you enjoyed this post ...

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb gift ideas

Hey guys back with another offering of something for Christmas, last week I wrote about a perfume I love and this week I'm writing about another fragrance, as I mentioned I'm not doing a gift guide as such as I'm feeling people are sick of those but each week il write about one thing that I'm going to review and you can make up your own mind.
Now a few years ago when I worked on the Chanel counter in Boots I used to come into work perfume free because my aim was to try a different perfume each shift to see if I liked them and obviously to smell different every day.  When I covered fragrance I used to tidy up all the shelves and clean all the glass displays and just love the fancy bottles thinking my god this is heaven, not the cleaning but messing with all the pretty bottles and one that people  that raved about was flowerbomb, I knew this wasn't a cheap one and your talking £73 for a 50ml which I suppose isint horrendous but it's not one of the cheaper ones. That's from Boots

So what is Flowerbomb all about??? Flowerbomb is an explosion of scents rolled into one with
TOP NOTES of Bergamot, Tea

HEART NOTES of Jasmine, Freesia, Orchid

BASE NOTES of Centiflora Rose, Patchouli

This is not one for the faint hearted if you don't like floral scents don't even pick it up, however if your a fan of a sophisticated mix of the florals then this may be for you. I did worry it would remind me of something my nan would have worn in a nice way but it didn't do that either,

My initial impression was OMG it was quite heady and I thought if I smell of this all day this is not good, I thought breathe it will dry down and when it did I was sold.  The mix of florals secrets with the woody notes of the Patchouli is what I love and the smell is completely beautiful.
The bottle is pretty not overtly fancy but nice, little details which are classy and look stunning on your dressing table, to me it's too nice to be thrown around in your hand bag, but I don't think you really need to carry it around I found that the scent lasts all day, I actually think when my current bottle runs out I will cry. Is it a great buy for Christmas I actually think that it is and the receiver of this will be a very lucky person,

YSL Black Opium Christmas Ideas

Hello guys hope you are all well.....and had a nice Halloween and Bonfire Night.  I am still freaked out by the fact we are in November how scary and now I'm faced with the dreaded Christmas lists of pages of A4 things my kids want GULP.  So with this in mind I'm not going to do gift guides or anything like that but I'm going to just tell you things I love for either myself or the kids and maybe you may like them to or think hmm that's an idea for Christmas.  That brings me to literally one of my favourite perfumes ever brings me to YSL Black Opium, when this first came out in the shops I didn't think I would like it, I remembered the old style Opium that came out years ago and I really didn't like it.

Now ok this is only my humble opinion and not everyone will like it but I love it so much I don't think that I would or will ever get fed up of the smell of this perfume.  The bottle is beautiful in itself black and sparkly with slices of glitter through it perfect for your dressing table and gorgeous to get out of your handbag.   So if you haven't smelt it what would you expect yes there's an element of depth to it, dark and mysterious with hints of coffee to a warm sensual base note. It's not over powering or heady I'm so trying not to be biased as I love it so much.

It's not the cheapest perfume around obviously depending on size you can pick up from most department stores or Drugstore I normally get mine from FragranceDirect

Hope you like it to

Spa Days and Swimwear*

Hi guys now if you know me well you will know that I love exercise loads.... In fact I'm actually lying I don't, but I make myself do it 4 times a week, there are 4 reasons why I make myself do it being
1. great for people with depression
2. Good for socialising
3. Helps keep weight stable
4. Good for overall health

So enough to about the exercise and more about the socialising, a group of the girls that go to the class decided a Spa day would be nice for us all, a chance to relax and socialise and unwind so yep I was sold and then I had the thought OMG I had been to Cyprus in the September and thrown all my swimsuits away....cringe, I had done this as I'd had them for the last few years and they had seen me well over the last few holidays I had been on but I didn't want to see them again in fact I was actually sick of the sight of them and in the holiday photos I was thinking oh god those swimsuits again.  So what was I to do, someone above must have heard my plight because I had an email in my inbox asking me if I would like to review some swimwear what are the chances of that, I literally kid you not I could have cried it was literally perfect.  All I had to do was have a look through there selection and chose as simple as that. There site is Ukswimwear and I can honestly tell you that you will be spoilt for choice literally so if your bag is Bikinis beachwear or a swimsuit then you will find something to suit you here.
For me I don't wear bikinis after three children I don't feel comfortable in bikinis so I've always worn swimsuits but I have always found them old fashioned until recently and they are much more modern and trendy.  I chose a smart classy one which you can see from my picture it's stylish without being too revealing or to over the top perfect for my spa day.

So about the spa day we went to the spa which is a few miles from where I live set in a nice are called  the valeresort.co.uk
Incidentally I had never been there before so wasn't sure what to expect.  I knew a lot of golfers went there, I knew also footballers went there and also various rugby players as well. I would say the resort is clean and the main reception staff friendly. The spa area is clean and tidy and very tranquil.  I had a full body massage which was actually really amazing and literally leaves you feeling really relaxed to the point of wanting to go asleep.  And all your aches and pains do disappear for that time period it's so amazing.  Also a full facial is done using templespa products which I cannot believe I haven't heard of before or used or even sampled, I must have been hiding under a rock as apparently there luxury truffle products such as the mask and moisturiser are huge, and after using them omg I can see why the smell alone is amazing.

L

So all in all a good day happy treatments lovely swimwear and a relaxing day.

Thank you so much to http://www.ukswimwear.com/swimsuits for being so kind to let me chose something from there range.

Radox 12 hour scent touch review

Today I'm taking about a product I've just picked up from Radox a little bottle of shower gel with a scent that claims to last 12 hours let's see if this is the case.

The one I'm showing you today I will say is the blue one which is fragranced with artic blueberry and patchouli, I like this one but I actually prefer the pink one which is fragranced with wild peony and lychee. The blue one I thought would smell like a men's shower gel it actually doesn't it smells of blueberries which you would hope for as its supposed to, I prefer the pink one as I like the brightness of the bottle it's like a girly bright pink shallow I know.  I've got through two of these in next to no time as its what I've been reaching for every shower not only me but my daughter to.  When I first bought it I jumped in the shower and came down to the living room in my dressing gown to watch Corrie with my cup of tea and my daughter came into the living room and said ah mum what candle have you lit, I'm looking round the living room thinking what candle have I lit nor realising or maybe my little boy had, and I would have gone mad if he had of.  So I was literally sat there thinking what can she smell then it clicked it had to be the shower gel and it was.  Once she realised what it was she was sniffing me like a little spaniel off she went in the shower, my immediate reaction ah well there goes half my shower gel down the plug.

So back to the review, the claims of the brand are that the scent left behind will last 12 hours and is this the case, well as I've mentioned the scent is particularly lovely the pink one especially, in the shower you get a full on lather which some people won't like as in it contains SLS, so becareful if you have any allergies or super sensitive skin. Don't use it near your eyes and don't wash your hair with it either, my youngest boy did do that, little monkey.   Ok so after showering in the pink one last night about ten o'clock, I stayed up for about an hour and then went to bed, at that time the smell was really strong and I could smell it even on myself and in my bedroom.  I woke up next morning about 6am and the smell was very faint but marginally still there, so I would say they a good 8 hours is very good in terms of smell ability of a product, not only that the shower gel is extremely reasonable and you can pick up for around £2.50 from most chemists drug stores or supermarkets,

Why you need to talk about mental health

Hey guys hope you are well,  today I'm going to discuss something that I have done a few times through the years on my blog and I feel that I need to again as it's as subject that's not going to go away and I think the more it's discussed the more the taboo will break hopefully and that people can reach out and talk. Now the reason and focus on this is obviously we have had a day recently hashtag mental health world day where a lot of attention was brought to this subject, which is in fact brilliant but then once that day goes and everything settles what then? What can people do? Who can they talk to and can we indentify it in friends colleagues and family.
Locally where I live 3 young men have recently took there own lives, not related not friends and all early twenties and under.  Two of them had a child or children and one had left for work and didn't return home.  The one who had left for work had apparently left for work as normal quite happy and didn't say a word to his partner that he felt down or depressed and seemingly to the outside world had everything.  But he must have been suffering with some sort of anguish or pain and maybe couldn't tell anyone who knows but now awful for that family and friends to go through all that pain to.
So that's what has prompt me to write again as I know through my own experience how much mental health can affect you and not just you but the people around you.  Mental health is my illness that I have to deal with everyday it affects my confidence my ability sometimes to do my job well and even now I cope with my colleagues peers and family. What I often struggle with is perceptions of me from people who don't know me but make the assumption that as I wear makeup and do my hair that I am a fully functioning secure adult, whereas if I had a broken leg or an open wound people would say ah I can see your injuries hope you recover and get well, but as mental illness depression or any other type of mental illness is unseen it's often mistaken for nothing.  I find that still really hard to deal with and I'm so sure many of you do to. People don't realise the battle that it is to get out of bed some days as you may not have slept all night as your mind may have been working overtime causing you not to sleep or when it is time to get up, you genuinely cannot get the strength to do it.  For me I hate doing the school run in the afternoon after work the thought of going into that school yard with all those parents fills me with dread, I also sometimes hate even going food shopping and I've left my trolley in the shop full of food and walked out, some of the people who know me but not well think that's absurd but it's not.
I also really feel for children and teenagers to nowadays and as I've mentioned young adults, children and teenagers have so much pressure on them now to be a certain way or look a certain way even from a young age, I can remember as a kid literally having a laugh and roaming the streets till it was dusk but the kids nowadays can't do that.  I'm not blaming it but I don't think social media helps, if you child or teen has Instagram or Facebook and posts selfies and doesn't get many likes etc or comments sometimes I know it can leave a child or teen feeling a bit bruised in the pride sense, or if people make personal comments such as pointing out your flaws which ok you know you have but don't necessary what reminding of can leave you feeling low and denting your feelings.
Not only that tests for young kids and exams can really cause stress in young people, for youngsters to help you can access Youngminds for support and advice.

But all I can say is if you feel isolated or alone please talk to someone, a parent, a friend, a teacher a tutor, a doctor anyone who can listen or if you don't have that added support because not everyone is lucky enough to have that go to www.mind.org.uk it's so so important to talk.

Also if you feel so down alone and helpless what I do sometimes is get a piece of paper and list all the bad things I feel and then the good things, don't get me wrong sometimes the bad list is long but then when I analyse the good I feel guilty and my mind makes me focus on that good, so if you feel like that and you can look at even one good thing on your list then concentrate on that, if you can't out one good thing on your list you need to go to the doctors or try to do something for you, you are so important special and worthwhile.
And if you get any feelings of self doubt and self worth please tell someone your not a fool your amazing.

Woods of Windsor The Gardeners Collection*

Hey guys hope your are well on this lovely Autumnal day, I literally haven't stopped today up at the crack of dawn to take my daughter to work, then football in a wet muddy field joy, and then I came home washed the car tidied my garden and then took my other son and his friend to the skating rink I'm exhausted.  Who said that the weekends were relaxing.
Anyway in the week I was really kindly sent a package from the lovely people at woodsofwindsor who sent me three products from there Gardeners Collection. I make no secret of loving lovely things and skincare and beauty products and makeup is right up there so an excited kid in a sweet shop strings to mind.
So the first item il introduce you to is the Blackberry & Tyne Moisturising Hand Wash, coming in an attractive yet classy bottle which would look nice in your kitchen, the wash is infused with fragrance of Blackberry and Thyme with a combination of green tea and ripe blackberry, white Jasmine enhanced with musk and Amber.  The highlight is the antibacterial healing thyme oil and anti oxidants that help protect the hands so your hands are left clean soft and freshly fragranced.

Next is the Exfoliating Hand Scrub enriched with the same ingredients as the wash, this differs as obviously it's an exfoliator and contains pumice to cleanse and remove dirt, so if your an outdoor type of person, a keen Gardner which I'm not but I do to it, who ends up with there hands filthy and in my case stained with grass and all sorts this is brilliant for scrubbing all this gross stuff off, but leaving your hands soft and clean but also smelling nice and fresh,  this isint something I would use every time I washed my hands but definitely after doing something that involved my hands taking a battering where they needed some extra help.

And last but not least is the Nourishing Hand Cream this one again has similar ingredients do its other counterparts but contains Shea butter which I love, what is a hand cream without Shea butter.  To me and I'm sure most people who enjoy hand cream Shea butter is the key to softening the skin, so  if you are patient and are keen to look after and care for your hands using this after the exfoliator is great because after scrubbing away any dead skin from your hands and making sure they are clean this makes way for the hand cream to soak into your hands and really give them a nice treat.

Who are Woods of Windsor they are a brand that has been around for actually around the time I became alive cough cough. They are a brand that has created a beautiful range of fragrances and bath luxuries for you to enjoy for yourself or as a gift.  I actually think this set would make a lovely gift as it not only looks lovely but also smells gorgeous and feels like a treat. This range re-launched in 2016 with new packaging which reflects what Windsor is all about.  I always feel quite posh when I got to Windsor for so many reasons and it's probably due to the castle the flying aircraft overhead and the shops.

This range is also reasonably priced with everything here all being each product under £10 I bet you didn't expect that.

Hope you enjoyed this post

Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Review

Hello guys it's October now yay.....or nay depending on whether you love winter or summer.  I love summer but I also like autumn winter time, cosy jumpers and boots are nice plus candles burning in the living room.  As much as all that goes on the winter time is not great for your skin and I would step up with the skincare in other words don't neglect it layer layer layer.
If you work in and office cold climates all this literally play havoc with the skin and all the dry patches blotches and flaking skin come into play.  This is enough to make you want to cry but you can help to stop this.
Months ago Escentual a site I buy some skincare of had a big sale where they had money off French skincare so I decided to buy the Darphin 8 flower Nectsr, I was taking a risk as I had never sampled it and I was a little skeptical would it be worth it, would it be good for my skin, would it break me out did I have to worry read on and you'll find out.

The Darphin 8 flower oil is made up of 8 flowers being precious ones like Ylang Ylang, Patchouli,Neroli,Rose Damascena,Immortelle,Jasmine,Iris.   So full of beautiful natural ingredients to soothe and condition your skin.  The benefits of this oil are it helps smooth the look of lines and wrinkles and helps to firm the skin.  To use I use this after my serum and before my moisturiser sometimes I actually use it after a very thin layer of moisturiser so it's my last step before bed, I do this as the smell of this oil is literally gorgeous beautiful and so relaxing.  It's not heavy over powering or sickly it really is nice and a great treat before bed as I struggle to sleep but for some reason this helps me drop off.

Now in the morning I kid you not my skin feels plumped up healthy and glowing and looks clear and radiant I really promise it's got to be this oil it's literally amazing.

The only negative thing I have to say is I don't like the fact that this bottle of oil has no dropper for you to use, to use 5 drops of this I have to literally pour it into my palm and I take my time as I cannot even face the thought of wasting this.   Please put a dropper in, it's much better.

This doesn't come cheap if you don't buy it with any offers on its literally a gulp moment luckily I did and I've just searched and you get it in lookfantastic where there is £32.50 off which makes a big difference.

Proaura Vitamin C Serum with Astaxanthin*

Hey guys hope your all ok, today I'm letting you know how I've got on with a skincare product that I was kindly sent, and knowing my love for skincare and how important it is to look after your skin I was certainly going to give this a try.
So first of all Vitamin C is so good for the skin and the reason for that is it improves your skin by making it look firmer and younger looking.  It helps stop ageing and wrinkling and basically hello science lesson but helps neutralise free radicals and help form a barrier against things that sometimes we forget about such as sun damage, pollution and oxygen that literally zap the skin from good things. Vitamin C is extremely vital to the skin and so important to put into your daily routine.

So what is Astaxanthin, it's actually a powerful antioxidant which has been proven in all sorts of trials to increase skin moisture, elasticity and decrease fine lines and wrinkles, it's a keto-carotenoid and belongs to a chemical compound known as terpenes and is pink in colour, as I've mentioned it's extremely powerful in skincare.
What I had was a 30ml bottle of product with a handy little dropper to place the product in your palm, to use this and how I use it, is to first of all cleanse my face as I normally would then pat my skin dry, I would then press the serum into my face, and then massage in circular motions.  Allow to dry then apply your moisturiser, I use mine in the morning before makeup, letting all the products settle and soak into your skin.  I've been using this for a good few weeks now, I always give it a good couple of weeks just to make sure my skin doesn't break out or react to it.  My skin which is oily to combination didn't react badly to this,
My skin actually feels refreshed and the texture feels really soft and my skin is glowing, I really wouldn't say if this wasn't the case, I am very truthful and love skincare and i was so glad to try this.

This is currently on offer at Proaura

Lancaster Tan Maximiser

Hey guys had a little bit of an absence as been to Cyprus with my family and I didn't take my phone laptop or any kind of device to connect me to any kind of social media and it was actually really really nice to be away from it.  But I'm back and hello social media and hello new post.  So today I'm writing about a product that you literally cannot or shouldn't not get for your holiday and even you return.

If you like to get a safe tan but prolong it then you literally have to buy the Lancaster Tan Maximiser I cannot find anything close to it equal to it or better.  I buy it every time I go away and sweat if I can't find it.  I don't understand why Lancaster sun products are not as huge as they should be, they should be huge, they are in Europe you can pick them up in most shops or pharmacies but for me I get it in the airport every time I go away.  I bought a 400 ml size (so a large family size) at Bristol Airport and they actually had Lancaster Sun products on offer and if you bought two products a third was free, so hello shopping basket.  I did actually pick up a Clarins 50 SPF for the face and that was amazing for keeping out the nasty rays of the sun on your face.

So Lancaster are typically encased in bright orange packaging which distinguishes them in there range, they are not a cheap brand by a long shot but in this case you really get what you pay for.  Why do I love the tan maximiser and why do I always use it.

The tan maximiser is basically an after sun, so after you have been out in the sun all day or however long you spend out, I shower as normal and then use this aftersun liberally everywhere.  I do this the whole time I'm away and for ten days after I return depending on how much I have left.  This consistency is milky but not runny where it will go everywhere and soaks in well into the skin.  It does have a distinctive smell which I can only describe reminds me of holidays, but that's because I always use it, it's not a horrible scent but not floral or coconuty so don't expect that. The reason I use it is it literally helps my skin rebalance after the sun, as my legs and arm tend to feel dry after sun exposure and this helps soothe the skin and counteract drying.  Not only that it helps deepen your tan and it really does.  Infact when I went into work my colleagues asked me if I had sunbathed using oils and a really low SPF when infact I literally used SPF 30 the whole time I was away and never dipped below that the whole time.  They looked at me amazed as if I was lying when I really wasn't this is what I've used and I didn't tell them, but luckily for you I'm telling you.

Tk Maxx a little Mecca of bargains

So you know what I haven't stepped into TK Maxx for years,  I've viewed it in years gone by as a bit of hit and miss.  You know when you go in and have high expectations and come out deflated and gutted you really wanted to buy something and you couldn't. So my daughter was nagging and nagging and nagging some more please can we go up to TK Maxx so we did.  Clothes wise I wasn't winning as I couldn't go through the rails and rails but she did I was more drawn to the homewear and  skincare that was right up in my level.

If your looking for shampoos and conditioners and good quality hair masques I would say you would get a bargain but it's a case of if you see it get it as you will go back up to get what you didn't get but then decide you want and it's gone. There was a huge bottle of Redken Allsoft shampoo I wished I had bought but didn't and my next visit up there it was gone.  Also great for suncreams I bought some Lancaster Suncreams for my children as I really like it for them and online it's expensive but it was half the price in TK Maxx I was loving getting that at a tidy price. Also I picked up some oval sponge brushes you know the Artis dupes but without the humongous price tag.  I had been dying to try them for ages so I was chuffed to get them as I thought even if I don't like them for just over a tenner it won't matter.

I did notice some Elizabeth Arden skincare and Clinique so again great if you are looking for a bargain, these were incased in security boxes in guessing people may have been trying to help themselves to these.  I didn't buy any skincare but it was nice to see great brands up there, oh I did buy a round brush I can't remember the brand it was one I hadn't heard of but I remember on the packaging it said it helped reduced frizz and anti static ness on the hair and infairness it has helped give my hair a good finish and that's great for me as I hate blow drying my hair,

After rummaging round there I went back to the home department they had loads of candles very JO Malone inspired now some made me gag but some were really nice but I didn't buy any I did get a lovely good quality cushion though.

I did buy this huge Wella Enrich shampoo to with all my kids will prob last me about 4 weeks as I'm sure they tip it down the sink or empty it out in the shower.  But it's perfect for fine hair so great days.

My daughter bought some old school Ellesse clothes no thanks I said I wore that when it was out the first time gulp.

Budget V Premium Mascara can you tell the difference

Hello guys so I'm sat in today having a lazy day huts chilling out really. I went to see Girls Trip last night with 5 of my friends and I have to be fair it literally is one of the funniest things I've seen in years.  I couldn't even drink my water in fear of me spitting it out in laughter the whole cinema was in hysterics constantly the sign of a good film. Defo what I needed and if anyone of you haven't seen it and were thinking of going do go it's worth it.

So I was sorting out my makeup the other day and I was horrified to that I had only three active mascara's left, infairness I haven't bought any for a while plus I've been quite skint so haven't bought too much anyway.  But what I wanted to do was review two out the three that I am using.

So here they are one is by Estée Lauder  the sumptuous extreme mascara in black and the other is from Esscence and is the Rock and Doll mascara which incidentally I picked up in Wilko.

So first of all onto the price points the Estée Lauder  comes in at a jaw dropping £22.95 and that's actually the cheapest I've seen it at Allbeauty.  So what are my thoughts? It's packaged beautifully as you would generally expect from a premium beauty brand encased in an elegant gold case which is not bulky or annoying it's great for travel when your restricted really with your makeup items and you don't want a huge bulky thing hanging out your makeup bag. I use this this with the lash primer that I'm identically I won in a competition. The brush is huge which you can see from my picture it's like a big Christmas tree style brush well I think it looks like one anyway.  You do get a lot of product on the brush and a lot of wetness feeling on your lashes so it feels a bit like a paintbrush slapping paint on the wall.  I use two coats of this and it does give you a good coating on the lashes.  I didn't get any clumps which I do like, I do not like this brush at all for the lower lashes I find this too awkward and big really for getting in at the lower lash, I much prefer the Clinique mascara designed solely for the bottom lashes.
After a day of wear this did hold well and still looked quite fresh not the best when I've been to gym but then it's not labelled as water proof and lately my face has been a hot sweaty mess after the gym.  Oh and I don't put makeup on to go to the gym I just can't be arsed removing it before work to go.

Now onto the Esscence one you can see from the picture the brush is completely different to the Estee  Lauder one much smaller and difference in shape. The price point I picked this up for about £4.00 so value wise tons cheaper than it's premium friend above.  Packaging wise it's ok a bit clumpy but not gross, quite trendy with the rock n doll slogan this would appeal to my 15 year old daughter. Application wise much drier than the Estée Lauder one, I like the brush easy to use and apply. Now for me I did get quite spiky looking lashes I wouldn't say clumpy but a bit of a weird hedge hog style eyelash look.  Not horrific just different, but after a day I did experience a bit of smudging.  Didn't irritate my eyes or anything like that though.  Again I would prefer the Clinique mascara for the bottom lashes as nothing beats that one for them.  In terms of price I think it's ok, I'm at the age where I want my eyelashes to look like classy sweeping brushes so I wouldn't say this is my favourite but my daughter has now stolen if off me, I don't recommend sharing makeup I will add.
I like the Estée Lauder one but I don't think anything currently beats Lancome Hypnose or Magnificels unless you can let me know if any can.

Nivea double effect eye makeup remover

Now as a lover of a lot of eye makep including sometimes waterproof eyeliner I often struggle to get all my eye makeup off after doing my normal cleansing routines.  I am quite fanatical about my skincare and like to go to bed without any makeup on and I don't like to wake up to panda eyes.  So when I was in Boots the other day I thought do you know what I know that this eye makeup remover has been around for a little while now, I did think hmmmm perhaps this may be a big gimmicky with the separation in the bottle and the shake together solution but I thought let's give it a whirl.

Granted this is a small bottle it's only 125ml you don't really need a lot even for a heavy Eye makeup wearing person. The ingredients are ok they are suitable for sensitive skin types there is no fragrance no soap and no Parabens in,  there is sodium chloride in which some people may find a bit drying.  I shake the bottle to mix together and put some remover on a big square makeup pad I then place over my eyelid and hold it there for a while to let the product soak in so I can just wipe away my makeup instead of dragging and tugging the eye area. I fold the cotton pad over and then run this under my eye area to remove my eyeliner.

What I do then is to just wet another cotton pad in lukewarm water and wipe this over my eyelid and
around my eye area just to remove any last bits of product from around my eyes that gives me a clean base then for my eye creams and moisturisers.  I do find this eye makeup remover small but quite mighty in size it's really effective for removing even my hardcore water proof really good mascara's and even after a night out when I have literally layered on the mascara and eyeliner it's really really good at helping me not wake up looking like a panda.

Elemis marine cream breast cancer limited edition pack

Evening guys I literally haven't bought anything for ages been proper skint but payday came and I was desparate for a new moisturiser,  I had a scroll through QVC website thinking hmmm please let's have a good moisturiser on offer or at least on easy pays.  I am quite strict on my skincare regime I am more into this than I am clothes, and its true your skin will like you if you like it first.  Really I need cleansers oils and allsorts as I'm running out of everything but moisturiser has to be the first purchase.  So I purchased the limited edition Elemis Marine cream  which incidentally was on 3 easy payments thank god......when it arrived it was in a bright pink gift box which looked too pretty to actually open, it looked like something that glitter would burst out of and unicorns would appear. That aside I opened it and my gigantic marine cream was there saying "hello come get me" in a beautiful pink jar with the breast cancer symbol on the top of the jar and also a spatula to use the cream.

So what is the deal with the marine cream and is it worth the price tag,  here is the science, complete with marine extracts Padina Pavonica with claims to transform the complexion in just over 2 weeks. Trials have proved that the appearance in wrinkle depth was reduced by up to 78% and that hydration was increased by up to 45%. Skin firmness and elasticity are dramatically increased whilst providing superior free radical protection.

When I bought my first jar it was a much smaller version of this one, I literally used to plaster it all over my face and leave it.  I know now that's not the way to use it at all,.  Now I use the spatular and take out a tiny tiny bit less is more in this particular case.  I rub it between my hands to warm it up and activate the ingredients and then pat into my skin.  It's quite a nice routine once you get int it, you need to spend a little doing it but the results show on your face so keep at it.

I believe that proceeds go to breast cancer care from all sales of this product. It will take me a while to use this one up and the little bottle is to pretty to throw out.

On another news it's the school summer holidays although I'm not sure where the summer bit fits in as the weather has been shocking, but on the weekend I took my children to see CARS3 and we loved it, they are telling me they want to see captain underpants next omg....

Botanics #theplantone review*

I was really kindly sent a large selection of skincare from Botanics, I love skincare so I was so happy to receive it.  Botanics is a natural skincare range that combine powerful plant extracts for a healthy looking complexion whilst being very reasonably priced. This weekend I had been painting my fence and shed out my back garden I had no idea it would take so long plus I didn't realise it was so hot so guess what I burnt my face and nose a bit ahhhhhhh. So these products have been so welcome to use to try and soothe my poor face. So let's have a little look at what I had.

My favourite: Organic Facial Oil, basically this is described as a meal for the skin, a little bottle of facial oil complete with a dropper to dispense the product, I put three drops into my palms and warmed then pressed into my skin, I was hoping that I wouldn't be met with that gross greasy feel and I wasn't this oil soaked quickly into my skin and made if feel lovely and hydrated, combined with rosehip oil which is rich in omega oils this may explain the nourished feeling and plumping, oils are my go to with skincare now as I feel they are essential in maintaining healthy skin and I was impressed by this little gem.

Day Cream: sometimes I skip it then do my makeup and I wish I hadn't when my makeup looks rubbish, so I try and find something lightweight I can use before makeup and this cream is good for that lightweight and non tacky I massage this cream in and let it sink in for about 10 minutes then apply my makeup, this cream is enriched with clary sage extract which helps moisturise dehydrated skin for hours.  As you get older it's been more important to keep your skin moisturised and hydrated because if you don't it will look rough and prune like and aged and you don't want that, so try not to skip it try and keep it moisturised, cleanse and then moisturise whilst you have your cup of tea in the morning.

Radiant youth refining microdermabrasion polish: now in truth I haven't used any exfoliating products on my face for a little while, so when this arrived I thought ok lets have a little go, now products I've used before have put me off for being quite rough, now when I used this yes it is a rough but I used it in areas that I felt my skin would benefit from getting rid of gross dead skin cells particularly my forehead and round by my nose and my chin, so a little scrub gently in circular motions and then I rinsed off oh my word my skin felt like velvet after using it I was so happy, this is the best time then to apply a facial oil or serum as your skin will literally soak it right in. My skin was a little red after using it, but that's to be expected after giving it a little scrub. My skin was glowing after this, now for me I will use this only once a week I feel like that is enough as rubbing your skin too much is not good for it and it's more effective to use it less frequently.

The triple age renewal facial super serum: this serum is formulated to help hydrate and nourish skin and reduce the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles,  this one wasn't my favourite but only as I found it a bit drying for me, I'm more of an oil person than a serum I've come to realise, but combined with the combination of skincare this is a good little product.  You cannot beat the prices of these products and for the record my skin is normal to combination and I didn't receive any irritation or breakouts the only redness I experienced was when using the micro Dermabrasion but that's to be expected.  No dryness spots or weirdness so I would recommend.

How to live life to the full

Hello beauts hope you are all well, today I'm writing another positive post, in view of so much sad things around at the moment and me knowing 4 people my age with terminal illness I thought it was time to reflect on positive things and blessings.  I'm a massive believer in life is too short to not enjoy it and for me I love travelling and going different places and doing that with my children as that is what makes happy memories.
If you can't go abroad then going to the park or for a nice walk is just as good, fresh air and quality time with your family is priceless and doesn't matter where you are.
If like me you suffer from anxiety or depression sometimes you may not feel that your life is positive or you can even live your life to the full but with that my best advice is to take small steps every day and try and dig out positive aspects of your life and what I'm trying to remember that your kids are only little kids for such a short time they grow up so quickly and then don't want to do things with you when they get older.
I have started doing exercise now to, I used to shut off when I heard people talk about going to the gym or running and think how boring and actually I don't do any of those things but I do an exercise class with wicked music that helps me through it, I don't find it one bit boring and I actually really love it and I get home and feel good and less stressed when I do that.
If you have lots of friends try and meet up where possible and spend time with them, people are very busy with life but try and fit in time for your friends you need them as much as they need you. And to have a good laugh and a giggle is something to look back on when you don't feel too great.

I'm a firm believer of not saving for when I'm old this doesn't mean it's advisable and not for everyone, I think to myself sod it spend it now, if I do get to old age il be skint but at least il have good memories a good skincare collection and I will have good memories with the kids.

What do you do to live your life to the full??

My micro blading experience

Hey guys much more of a light hearted post compared to my other ones,  today I'm talking about ya browz in real terms your eyebrows, I've always heard bloggers, makeup artists and anyone who knows there stuff say how important your eyebrows are to your face and that they really frame your face.  So for years I've been plucking my eyebrows to within an inch of there life and then with any gaps I've been left with I've been filling in so badly.  I have bought every product and brush known to man to try and give me the brows I have wanted but I've sadly failed.
And then I heard of people having there eyebrows tattooed and I had been toying with that idea for ages but never actually done it.
And then I heard of microblading and I was like ok what is that?  "Microblading is a form of tattooing, unlike a regular tattoo where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a machine, hair like strokes are drawn with the tool to mimic natural hairs in your brows"

Now my eyebrows are pretty straight naturally and I didn't have an arch at all, so the space between my eyelid and the top of my eyebrow was literally non existent.  It was only when I had my makeup done for my birthday and the artist gave me a really definite arch I realised how much it could transform your whole look and I decided to give it a go.

I booked in with a reputable salon and seen loads of examples of her work and done it, I had numbing cream put on the areas needed and she left that to take effect, once she started I could hear a scraping noise which I wasn't loving but I couldn't feel anything.  It did take a while I honestly felt like I had been in the salon for hours and was loosing the will to live but then it was done.  I was really happy with the results though and the lady booked me in for a further 4 weeks for a top up.  The environment was really clean and sterile which again is essential when having a treatment like this done.

So today i returned for my top up and this is essential for any patches to be filled in and to keep your colour nice and fresh, the colour can be adapted to suit any hair colour and skin colour so that they look as natural and non fake as possible.  Today didn't take half as long as they first did, and the bonus was I didn't hear that scrapy sound either, so truthfully I could have gone asleep and I wouldn't have felt a thing.  The only thing that freaks me out is when I wake up in the morning makeup free my eyebrows are completely done and I look so funny as they are perfect and then you have my non makeup face ha ha.

If your considering it, it is worth it, I have to return every year now for a top up and I should always have nice eyebrows.

Hope you enjoyed this post

Real life How I Escaped a cult growing up.

Hey guys hope your well, wow this title is deep isint so unlike my normal I like this tan or face highlighter post but I've been thinking a lot about this all recently and thought I would share it particularly if it can help anyone.
So about me you may know that I'm in my forties and currently live in Wales growing up my "dad" was in the RAF so I lived in lots of places but ended up in Scotland as a small child along with my brother who I was just over two years older than.  Being a little girl I remember quite a happy childhood when I was say 6 years odd but that all changed when my families religion changed from my father being a Catholic and my "mum" being a non practising Methodist to a different religion that I won't name but you may guess when you read on. I noticed that a lot changed the Christmas tree was thrown away and I didn't have birthday presents or parties anymore, and nor did my brother, I will say my father wasn't part of the new religion but he agreed with the stopping of birthdays and Christmas. At school I was taken out of participating in Christmas concerts in mixing with the children out of school and not allowed to receive or give presents, I remember being stuck in a room on my own whilst the other children enjoyed christmas parties and not enjoying that feeling.

Attending the meetings (talks about god etc) where very regular, I personally hating walking there we would be made to do the three mile trip there by foot three times a week in all weathers, I don't think I missed one even if I was unwell. So I got to about eleven years old and then my parents told us we were moving to Wales I was quite excited about this, being a kid I thought this was a great adventure new school new friends and hopefully not having to attend those meetings.  Little did I know that my life was going to get a whole lot worse.
The move was complete and my brother and myself were put into new schools, I settled ok, and was invited to lots of places but I was never allowed to go, I don't know what changed in my dad but I started beating my mother really really badly and they would be arguing constantly, he started drinking extremely heavily and that did not help matters. Whilst all this was going on I still was attending this church.  My mother became more and more iratic in her behaviour and would shout at me whilst on the way to the church, if I didn't participate in the meeting she would hit me on the back of the head with her hand or worse get the microphone and hit me on the head with that it was mortifying.
Home life was getting increasingly worse, I was now 13 and my brother 11 and my father was beating my brother all the time and throwing so much emotional abuse at him, in the end my brother stopped going to school and ended up running away from home and getting into trouble.  I was being made to go to the betting shops and stand outside and ask old men to put bets on for my dad as he wouldn't leave the house and then I would have to get people to get cans of beer and cigarettes for me to take home for him to, this was daily, my brother didn't return home after this he ended up at young offenders institutes which was awful, meanwhile back at home the beatings went to me.  I was still having to go to the church and disguise my bruises my swellings and my tears.  I wasn't allowed to discuss what was going on,
I sat my exams and I really do not know how I did it without falling apart I was desparate to get away from the church and my situation at home, I remember being scared going to bed and going to sleep in fear as many times my father would drag me out of bed by the hair and pull me down the stairs and scream swear at me and beat me, he would continuously tell me how ugly and horrible I was so naturally I thought I was.  I begged my mum to help me but she wouldn't listen to me, I was now 19 and I was mentally and physically battered, I had been beaten 4 nights continuously and was a wreck, the church were having a party (gathering) In a house in Cardiff and I begged to go, I couldn't believe I was allowed to go, I went and was told to be home by 11 bearing in mind I was 19, I was enjoying myself and realised it was 12 o'clock and at that moment I decided I wasn't going to return home and I never did.
For three years after that night I would go to work and my mother used to wait in the bus stop and thrust letters in my hand,, she wouldn't talk to me, she said she wasn't allowed as I had left the church to, she said she couldn't have anything to do with me anymore, the letters were very long and rambling and didn't make any sense at all. But in essence she wouldn't bother with me anymore.

So where am I at now, well I'm 43 years old, my parents are now living in Reading, I do not see them at all anymore, I have seem them once 15 years ago and that was when my brother died, but I don't anymore, if you think I'm harsh not having things to do with them this has been a long thoughtful decision, I am a mother to three children myself and I would never ever treat them in this way or force them into a religion either.  I would say that I haven't been left unscaved by them and I struggle with a lot of things, I was never shown love or affection by them, so I do find it hard to be loving loving if that makes sense, I know I'm not ugly but it's taken me a long time to realise that but the feeling of escaping the clutches of the religion were and have been overwhelming some of my memories have been lost of my childhood I don't know if it's because of trauma but I can't remember them, but now I'm happy and living a normal life.

So if your in a similar position or scared you cannot get out of something you can be brave strong and do it, you won't look back.

Does ageism exist when your a blogger

Well hello lovelies hope your all well, today's post isint my normal look I've bought a fab shampoo or look at the bling of this highlighter today's post is about a more prevelant thought.

As an avid twitter user although no I don't have thousands of followers etc, I like twitter for promoting my blog, competitions and seeing what is going on in the world I have noticed a change in the last four years.  Whereas when I started blogging I couldn't give a rats ass about my age my weight my bank balance and what bag I carry, I started blogging as a hobby and I consider it still that way.
However I have noticed that bloggers do seem to get on if they are the size 8/10 perfect hair chanel bag carrying type, this is not meant as a swipe by all means I myself have been in the size 8/10 category I just didn't have the Chanel bag or the perfect hair... But what about the talent and the personality first.  Why can't bloggers succeed because they are older a bit more lined and have a bit more junk in there trunk.

I've seen big bloggers who are a bit older and shall we say not as stereo typical looking as the run of the mill types get terrible abuse on Instagram saying some awful things.why even people even type these terrible things i will never know what gain do people have from belittling people.  Why shouldn't people who are a bit older or a bit different looking do a lovely contour look, or a nice glitter eye why not??? Or do a nice outfit post who cares if they are a size 20, everyone is beautiful and unique and what are we telling these younger girls that unless your perfect you won't succeed, why my words to that is kiss my age as the lovely Jules a fellow blogger says, she rocks the outfits posts and her positivity is refreshing... age doesn't matter we are all succesful and we all can look amazing we need to stick together and support.

Here is my kiss my age picture, sporting lashings of glitter highlighter and bronzer and I don't care....yes I'm old but I'm not growing old typically why should I.

Wella Oil Reflections Lumionous Shampoo

I had been sent this shampoo and conditioner a couple of months ago to try and I loved it so much I ordered the mega 1000ml size it must be a salon size as it's huge, I didn't realise it didn't come with a pump though so when the shampoo came without I just ordered that separately.  My hair is now just under the chin in a bob with purposely dark roots, it's then a while to get there so it's quite frazzled.
My hair is also very fine and flyaway to.

The shampoo is described as being able to offer a mirror like shine to dull hair, and I can say this is true, my hair is dull and bring processed to blonde doesn't shine very well at all. But that being said my work mates have commented and said my hair does look more shiny recently win win.

Ingredient wise Camellia Oil and White Tea extract are present which help to moisture the hair from roof to tip without weighing down the hair.  Now scent wise some people have described it as floral I personally don't I think it's more of a fresh clean scent, I love the smell and thats one of the things that made me buy it, I can smell it on my hair for hours after washing it, I love that as it makes me feel clean and that my hair is clean.

I bought the conditioner that matches the shampoo to but you know how it goes the shampoo always runs out first so I figured it would make more sense to get the large shampoo and normal sized conditioner as they will probably run out at the same time now haha.

I know Wella have a new range out now to called FUSION my beady eye is on that to, but let's see how long this takes me to use up.  Another reason I love this is my opinion is that if you have a nice haircut and you colour your hair to, you need to look after that colour, so that's another reason in my justification in buying posh products.

It may help to know I picked up this huge size for £20 which is a bargain as it's normally £40 I can't remember the site but if you scour the net you should be able to find a good deal to.

Forty third birthday celebrations

Scary that in seven years il be fifty but hey live life to the full I say, so with that in mind it was rude to not organise a birthday night out well starting at 5pm ok so early evening.  You don't realise how much effort it is to get ready for a night out, pre prepping is all about the tan, the nails, the hair then on the day it's the makeup.  My early morning started with football matches for my littlest then more football through the day.  So bit of a final rush to get ready.  We decided to go out local as it's easier to get home and if you have a good drink you don't really want to be sitting in a taxi for twenty minutes feeling queasy sore feet and just dying to get in.

So this was the start hair done by my clever niece I wanted a nice clean blonde with dark roots and that's what she did, literally a hair angel so lucky the poor girl is local as I'm always pestering her I think I'm enough to put her off hair.

And here she is all ready I know she's my niece but what a gorg she is.  She's such fun as well and always has a smile on her face.

And me complete with a top I had for my birthday from a little boutique in Cardiff from my best friend... Makeup mainly Mac Charlotte Tilbury and Armani.

So a late afternoon tea which was gorgeous washed down with copious amounts of Prosecco.

Now don't be deceived by this little ensemble. Inside this copper teapot was a cocktail which was called Cherry Bakewell and was absolutely stunning, but absolutely lethal and very strong I'm sure it was neat alcohol but really nice.  We always start off so sophisticated and it ends up a little bit messy but why not being 43 is not so bad.

Skinny Tan Express Mousse*

Hi guys hope you are all well, this week I'm limbering up for my birthday, it's my 43rd so no stranger to birthdays as I've had lots now as I'm climbing up the numbers, that's not to say I can't still prep like a teen for my nights out he he, well admittedly it's a lot tougher these days.  One thing I like do now before a night out is fake tan, I just feel personally a bit more body confident and happier with a bit of colour, years ago I favoured the orange shades nowadays I prefer more of a glow and a healthier natural look.  I was really kindly sent some skinnytan to me to try.  I had seen ads popping up for this on my Facebook and I had heard a little about it but hadn't actually bought any, I think the initial price may have put me off hence I'm glad I tried it now was il fill you in now.

So I was sent the Express Mousse including the Mitt, the express mousse is developed so if you are rushing to go out and need your tan in quick time then you can, you leave it for an hour and you get a medium colour leave it longer and you will get it darker.  I have to say hands down  and I kid you not this is the best smelling tan I have ever come across a fresh coconut smell which reminds me of going on holiday is what you get with this, no awful biscuit smell, no wet sticky tacky feel either on application I was more than happy with this, also I have to tell you about the mitt, this mitt is literally goals, it feels soft to the touch made with velvet and dark brown so no lovely tan stains, easy to wash and look after, this mitt is beautiful.

In my humble personal opinion the mitt is so well thought of as it's one of my gripes when you take your time to do your tan and make sure you don't have streaks and then you take the mitt of and you have tanned palms it drives me insane.  But I didn't get this using the mitt.
So back to the tan I used it for an hour and had a light soft glow, my personal preference is leaving it on over night and showering in the morning as I prefer a slightly deeper colour which lasts longer.  It was a little patchy round my ankles but I didn't exfoliate them enough so make sure you do this and moisturise your ankles first.  I got a good solid 5 days out of this tan, I also liked the fade off to, it didn't look weird it actually faded off very naturally.

Now back to the price point it's not the cheapest tan around, however in this case I will say if you like a nice smelling tan with an excellent colour pay off then it's worth getting.
Roll on my birthday celebrations with a nice healthy tan,

Laura

Afternoon tea at the Hilton and Dirty Martinis

So my bestest friend in the world recently turned 40 and had not long had a baby so she didn't want a mad weekend away much to all our disappointment, I was hoping for a weekend in Ibiza or even Marbella even if I would be in bed by 10pm. So with these plans aside I arranged a night day out in our hometown of Cardiff.  I booked Afternoon Tea at the a hilton for 25 of us with prosecco and then a booth at Dirty Martini.

We all took our children to football in the morning and then had the mad dash to get home to get all ready for our day out.  We all met at the local pub then took a train into town to get to the Hilton. The manager came to introduce himself which was lovely and then we were seated until our food arrived. We were topped up with endless amounts of prosecco which trust me is hard work in the afternoon.  There were other parties present to another 40th celebration and a 30th birthday also.  I was secretly giggling there was an elderly lady in one of the parties who's prosecco had gone right to her head and she was slumped in the chair I thought it's normally me who's like that.  Anyway we had a great afternoon and such a good laugh, going back and for the toilet was a nightmare it felt about three miles away from our room but never mind eating all those sandwiches and cake the walking is probably a good thing.

So we finished up here then walked through the shopping arcades to Dirty Martini, I haven't visited Dirty Martini before and I was impressed with how smart the staff were and how smart the place was, we arrived just in time for happy hour and we made way through the cocktail menu.  So our night just got better and better and the laughs louder and longer.  We caught the last train home and literally had the best day ever.

How I spend my chilled evenings

Hi guys hope your all well, today I'm actually having a bit of a chilled evening after a busy day in work, I finished early from work the sun was shining and I got loads of boring washing and cleaning done. My children were relatively calm after a mad day in school but were playing musically on there iPads so once that was done it was our family time. And I rarely get to do it but what's better than lying on the sofa with your feet up with the kids round you, well I love it anyway.  I'm really back into watching Benidorm again I thought it was slow to start but it's eventually picking up and I'm enjoying it again and yes I do find watching the tv Panasonic 4K TV is perfect for this as when I had my first flat I had the smallest little portable tv you have ever seen and I couldn't see anything on it.  So to be fair I didn't find it relaxing or get to appreciate anything I was watching as I could hardly see it plus it was so grainy I often just turned it off and lost my patience grrrrrr. So I actually feel posh now as I have defo upgraded and when I have the time I love watching travel programmes and love seeing things in the glory and colour they should be not in the past black and white god I'm so old.

I would say that family life and free time are not something that many people can find time to mix together.so I would say if you get it snatch it and do it as making memories are the best thing ever. I literally have to snatch the time now as my teenage daughter is generally in her bedroom on group chats talking to her friends, my middle boy is generally on his phone or out with his friends or doing his homework, and my littlest doesn't give me much tv time as his xbox is attached to it, what idiot what do that (me) and he's playing FIFA as he's football obsessed, but I'd rather that than kicking the football all around my house as he's been known for the last year to do that and break loads of my vases. Oh actually as we speak he's up at the tv break and kicking a tennis ball around where did that come from.

Hope you enjoyed this and your valuable free time to

My lip filler experience

Hey guys  hope you are all well, and starting to enjoy the lighter nights, although tonight it's currently pouring down, so I thought I would fill you in on something I've had done, now my friends have been having Botox and things done to there faces for years and at the ripe old age of nearly 43 I've been lucky enough to not need anything like that done but recently whilst they were all having stuff done I thought I'd quite like a little filler to make my lips fuller but didn't want them to look huge.  Now my natural lips are a little wonky and quite thin on the top so I was hoping for a more fuller but natural lip.

The advice I would give is if you want something done research it first don't just jump in, the ladies that done mine are qualified nurses, I filled in paperwork including health questions, seen certification and had after care advice if you are not presented with any of these things I would think twice a cheaper offer may not be a sensible one.

So all in all my procedure took about twenty minutes where I was given a numbing block in my top lip, I am not keen on needles so I don't look. I close my eyes and think about nice things to take my mind off it all, once this is done the nurse goes ahead and injects the filler.  Now as I had explained the look I wanted she had she knew where to place the filler.  Once she was happy with this she moved on to the bottom lip and again applied the numbing block and proceeded to inject the bottom lip once the lip had numbed.

After she had finished they were swollen and they continued to be for about two days plus they do feel a bit weird like a bit rubbery but after that they do look much more normal, I don't think  they look huge well I don't think they do and I like the way they look with lipstick on, I don't wear Lipliner when they are like this as I feel they don't need anymore definition.

And this is my before and after pictures which they use on there website which I actually feel is quite nice, I know some people won't like them and that's ok.  If anyone wants to ask me anything I'm more than happy to help

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse

So back with a skincare post today this time I've been trying a range I have heard absolutely loads about but I didn't but mainly because I stuck to my usual brands, anyway I decided to give the cleanser a go, described as a balm and after using a balm before but from a different brand I figured I didn't have to much to lose.
Sarah Chapmans ultimate cleanse is designed to remove all traces of makeup and to leave the skin feeling soft and clean, the cleanser comes in a pump bottle which you literally press one pump into your palm and that is sufficient to use to cleanse your skin.
Ingredients include soothing omega-rich baobab and borage oils mixed with a dose of antioxidant vitamins A and E and precious white lily to boost collagen production. Also provided is a professional cleansing mitt which has two layers one side for exfoliation and one for removing eye makeup.

So as someone who wears a lot of makeup including foundation and bronzer and blusher and eye makeup I was interested to see how this balm would perform and would it get all this makeup off, well the answer is yes, you use the amount that the pump dispenses and massage gently into your face, the balm turns into a creamy milky formula which easily wipes and washes away.  My skin is left cleansed feeling clean and brighter and my pores felt clean and tighter.  I didn't feel that my skin felt tight or irritated but felt soft clean and looked healthy and if you end up with healthy clean glowy skin then that's a great basis for your day to start with, if your skin looks congested and blocked then your makeup won't look great and you won't end up having the best day because if your skin doesn't look great you don't feel great.

I love this cleanser it truly is lovely and luxurious my only criticisms are the price point it's not the cheapest (£40.00 100ml) and the packaging in my humble opinion could be a little better but I actually do believe it's what's inside that counts.

Garnier Miicellar Cleansing Gel Wash

Hey guys hope all is well, this week has been manic with half term and even though I've been in work and the kids have been off this week seems to have been really long and exhausting,,,anyway towards  the end of the week my favourite cleanser ran out with no warning as you can't tell how much is left as the bottle is green and you can't see inside, so I was thinking what I do now so a quick run to Boots and a scan of all the shelves and I still couldn't decide.  Then I noticed  the Garnier section had a third off all products so it's a win win.  I bought the new Cleansing Gel Wash and a huge bottle of Micellar bottle which literally was massive but it has to be as my daughter pinches it all the time.

The Cleansing Gel wash is new to Garnier and is an all in one cleanser which soothes the skin and removes makeup even on the lips and eyes.  Normally my daughter uses face wipes which I don't like so I bought two bottles of the gel wash for me and her.  I like the fact that the bottle has a pump on it as it's nice and hygienic and not only that as my daughter suffers from bad skin at the moment it's ideal for keeping more bacteria away from the skin. There is a sensitive skin version which I bought the two of and a normal version.  This product is unscented but yet fresh and leaves your skin feeling clean and not stripped or dry which I hate and has been known with products before.  My skin is oily and my daughters is sensitive and acne prone, so the results for both of us were good as neither were left feeling harsh,
Also it's worth noting myself and my daughter are both makeup junkies addicts full on we love makeup girls which means we both love our false eyelashes full face of makeup including glitter which can be an absolute nightmare to get off plus not only that when either of us give our faces a good full on cleanse we think that our skin is clean and wake up to the dreaded panda eye look in the morning gulp it's so not a good look. However after using this gel wash it didn't a really good job of getting rid of makeup including stubborn tough to remove makeup,  Tel gel turns to a lather and you normally only need about two pumps to give your face a good cleanse.

I am normally a high end skincare girl and my daughter a face wipe girl, I've encouraged her to ditch the wipes which she has and uses this, and I am now a convert to this as it comes in at a fab price and does an amazing job.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

I'm all about the glitter and sparkle and to be honest the sparklier and glittery the better, so when Stila launched there new range of eyeshadows they were heavily featured on many a bloggers instagrams and they were literally raved about I did think are they as good as the hype.  My other also fear was would the glitter literally give you the dreadful fallout and I would be forever scrubbing away through the day and the night under my eye trying to get rid of it and the other worry being a person over 40 was the glitter going to be a terrible no no full stop well let's see.

So there it us I bought Kitten Karma which is described as jewels for the eyes a perfect mixture of pearl and glitter to adorn the eyes with incredible luster and shimmer. Also described as lightweight
water infused formular which glides on effortlessly, dries down smoothly locking in sparkle with
minimal fallout.
So with that in mind I put this on this morning before going to watch football with my son just the right place to have a full on glitter eye ha ha and here we are.

So you can see I have kept most of my other makeup a lot more flat as I don't want to take anything away from the glitter and literally placed it on too of my eyeshadow which today was Mac Cranberry and Mac Antiqued.  I applied it all over my lower lid with the applicator in the bottle.

I also all applied a little bit by my tear ducts just to create a bit more drama I actually thought oh god what if I'm glittering so much il get him the face with the ball.

And this is me after football so looking a bit more shinier as I have oily skin and it's all still intact despite being at football being subject to freezing temperatures and having some funny glances at football I have no fallout whatsoever.  Normally you can also put glitter on and it can feel quite weird and scratchy to apply I didn't experience any of that.  It does feel wet to go on your eyelid but druse super quick plus I didn't get any transfer onto my upper lid from blinking or anything. Do I love it oh my god yes I really do, do I want the other colours yes I do.

Also is it age appropriate well I'm over 40 and I have it on, I actually really like it and yes I would wear it out for a night out of course I would, and there may be some skeptics who don't think it's suitable for someone my age and that's ok but I happen to enjoy a bit of glitter and as long as that makes a person feel happy and that's fine to.
