Does ageism exist when your a blogger

Well hello lovelies hope your all well, today's post isint my normal look I've bought a fab shampoo or look at the bling of this highlighter today's post is about a more prevelant thought.

As an avid twitter user although no I don't have thousands of followers etc, I like twitter for promoting my blog, competitions and seeing what is going on in the world I have noticed a change in the last four years.  Whereas when I started blogging I couldn't give a rats ass about my age my weight my bank balance and what bag I carry, I started blogging as a hobby and I consider it still that way.
However I have noticed that bloggers do seem to get on if they are the size 8/10 perfect hair chanel bag carrying type, this is not meant as a swipe by all means I myself have been in the size 8/10 category I just didn't have the Chanel bag or the perfect hair... But what about the talent and the personality first.  Why can't bloggers succeed because they are older a bit more lined and have a bit more junk in there trunk.

I've seen big bloggers who are a bit older and shall we say not as stereo typical looking as the run of the mill types get terrible abuse on Instagram saying some awful things.why even people even type these terrible things i will never know what gain do people have from belittling people.  Why shouldn't people who are a bit older or a bit different looking do a lovely contour look, or a nice glitter eye why not??? Or do a nice outfit post who cares if they are a size 20, everyone is beautiful and unique and what are we telling these younger girls that unless your perfect you won't succeed, why my words to that is kiss my age as the lovely Jules a fellow blogger says, she rocks the outfits posts and her positivity is refreshing... age doesn't matter we are all succesful and we all can look amazing we need to stick together and support.

Here is my kiss my age picture, sporting lashings of glitter highlighter and bronzer and I don't care....yes I'm old but I'm not growing old typically why should I.

Wella Oil Reflections Lumionous Shampoo

I had been sent this shampoo and conditioner a couple of months ago to try and I loved it so much I ordered the mega 1000ml size it must be a salon size as it's huge, I didn't realise it didn't come with a pump though so when the shampoo came without I just ordered that separately.  My hair is now just under the chin in a bob with purposely dark roots, it's then a while to get there so it's quite frazzled.
My hair is also very fine and flyaway to.

The shampoo is described as being able to offer a mirror like shine to dull hair, and I can say this is true, my hair is dull and bring processed to blonde doesn't shine very well at all. But that being said my work mates have commented and said my hair does look more shiny recently win win.

Ingredient wise Camellia Oil and White Tea extract are present which help to moisture the hair from roof to tip without weighing down the hair.  Now scent wise some people have described it as floral I personally don't I think it's more of a fresh clean scent, I love the smell and thats one of the things that made me buy it, I can smell it on my hair for hours after washing it, I love that as it makes me feel clean and that my hair is clean.

I bought the conditioner that matches the shampoo to but you know how it goes the shampoo always runs out first so I figured it would make more sense to get the large shampoo and normal sized conditioner as they will probably run out at the same time now haha.

I know Wella have a new range out now to called FUSION my beady eye is on that to, but let's see how long this takes me to use up.  Another reason I love this is my opinion is that if you have a nice haircut and you colour your hair to, you need to look after that colour, so that's another reason in my justification in buying posh products.

It may help to know I picked up this huge size for £20 which is a bargain as it's normally £40 I can't remember the site but if you scour the net you should be able to find a good deal to.

Forty third birthday celebrations

Scary that in seven years il be fifty but hey live life to the full I say, so with that in mind it was rude to not organise a birthday night out well starting at 5pm ok so early evening.  You don't realise how much effort it is to get ready for a night out, pre prepping is all about the tan, the nails, the hair then on the day it's the makeup.  My early morning started with football matches for my littlest then more football through the day.  So bit of a final rush to get ready.  We decided to go out local as it's easier to get home and if you have a good drink you don't really want to be sitting in a taxi for twenty minutes feeling queasy sore feet and just dying to get in.

So this was the start hair done by my clever niece I wanted a nice clean blonde with dark roots and that's what she did, literally a hair angel so lucky the poor girl is local as I'm always pestering her I think I'm enough to put her off hair.

And here she is all ready I know she's my niece but what a gorg she is.  She's such fun as well and always has a smile on her face.

And me complete with a top I had for my birthday from a little boutique in Cardiff from my best friend... Makeup mainly Mac Charlotte Tilbury and Armani.

So a late afternoon tea which was gorgeous washed down with copious amounts of Prosecco.

Now don't be deceived by this little ensemble. Inside this copper teapot was a cocktail which was called Cherry Bakewell and was absolutely stunning, but absolutely lethal and very strong I'm sure it was neat alcohol but really nice.  We always start off so sophisticated and it ends up a little bit messy but why not being 43 is not so bad.

Skinny Tan Express Mousse*

Hi guys hope you are all well, this week I'm limbering up for my birthday, it's my 43rd so no stranger to birthdays as I've had lots now as I'm climbing up the numbers, that's not to say I can't still prep like a teen for my nights out he he, well admittedly it's a lot tougher these days.  One thing I like do now before a night out is fake tan, I just feel personally a bit more body confident and happier with a bit of colour, years ago I favoured the orange shades nowadays I prefer more of a glow and a healthier natural look.  I was really kindly sent some skinnytan to me to try.  I had seen ads popping up for this on my Facebook and I had heard a little about it but hadn't actually bought any, I think the initial price may have put me off hence I'm glad I tried it now was il fill you in now.

So I was sent the Express Mousse including the Mitt, the express mousse is developed so if you are rushing to go out and need your tan in quick time then you can, you leave it for an hour and you get a medium colour leave it longer and you will get it darker.  I have to say hands down  and I kid you not this is the best smelling tan I have ever come across a fresh coconut smell which reminds me of going on holiday is what you get with this, no awful biscuit smell, no wet sticky tacky feel either on application I was more than happy with this, also I have to tell you about the mitt, this mitt is literally goals, it feels soft to the touch made with velvet and dark brown so no lovely tan stains, easy to wash and look after, this mitt is beautiful.

In my humble personal opinion the mitt is so well thought of as it's one of my gripes when you take your time to do your tan and make sure you don't have streaks and then you take the mitt of and you have tanned palms it drives me insane.  But I didn't get this using the mitt.
So back to the tan I used it for an hour and had a light soft glow, my personal preference is leaving it on over night and showering in the morning as I prefer a slightly deeper colour which lasts longer.  It was a little patchy round my ankles but I didn't exfoliate them enough so make sure you do this and moisturise your ankles first.  I got a good solid 5 days out of this tan, I also liked the fade off to, it didn't look weird it actually faded off very naturally.

Now back to the price point it's not the cheapest tan around, however in this case I will say if you like a nice smelling tan with an excellent colour pay off then it's worth getting.
Roll on my birthday celebrations with a nice healthy tan,

Laura

Afternoon tea at the Hilton and Dirty Martinis

So my bestest friend in the world recently turned 40 and had not long had a baby so she didn't want a mad weekend away much to all our disappointment, I was hoping for a weekend in Ibiza or even Marbella even if I would be in bed by 10pm. So with these plans aside I arranged a night day out in our hometown of Cardiff.  I booked Afternoon Tea at the a hilton for 25 of us with prosecco and then a booth at Dirty Martini.

We all took our children to football in the morning and then had the mad dash to get home to get all ready for our day out.  We all met at the local pub then took a train into town to get to the Hilton. The manager came to introduce himself which was lovely and then we were seated until our food arrived. We were topped up with endless amounts of prosecco which trust me is hard work in the afternoon.  There were other parties present to another 40th celebration and a 30th birthday also.  I was secretly giggling there was an elderly lady in one of the parties who's prosecco had gone right to her head and she was slumped in the chair I thought it's normally me who's like that.  Anyway we had a great afternoon and such a good laugh, going back and for the toilet was a nightmare it felt about three miles away from our room but never mind eating all those sandwiches and cake the walking is probably a good thing.

So we finished up here then walked through the shopping arcades to Dirty Martini, I haven't visited Dirty Martini before and I was impressed with how smart the staff were and how smart the place was, we arrived just in time for happy hour and we made way through the cocktail menu.  So our night just got better and better and the laughs louder and longer.  We caught the last train home and literally had the best day ever.

How I spend my chilled evenings

Hi guys hope your all well, today I'm actually having a bit of a chilled evening after a busy day in work, I finished early from work the sun was shining and I got loads of boring washing and cleaning done. My children were relatively calm after a mad day in school but were playing musically on there iPads so once that was done it was our family time. And I rarely get to do it but what's better than lying on the sofa with your feet up with the kids round you, well I love it anyway.  I'm really back into watching Benidorm again I thought it was slow to start but it's eventually picking up and I'm enjoying it again and yes I do find watching the tv Panasonic 4K TV is perfect for this as when I had my first flat I had the smallest little portable tv you have ever seen and I couldn't see anything on it.  So to be fair I didn't find it relaxing or get to appreciate anything I was watching as I could hardly see it plus it was so grainy I often just turned it off and lost my patience grrrrrr. So I actually feel posh now as I have defo upgraded and when I have the time I love watching travel programmes and love seeing things in the glory and colour they should be not in the past black and white god I'm so old.

I would say that family life and free time are not something that many people can find time to mix together.so I would say if you get it snatch it and do it as making memories are the best thing ever. I literally have to snatch the time now as my teenage daughter is generally in her bedroom on group chats talking to her friends, my middle boy is generally on his phone or out with his friends or doing his homework, and my littlest doesn't give me much tv time as his xbox is attached to it, what idiot what do that (me) and he's playing FIFA as he's football obsessed, but I'd rather that than kicking the football all around my house as he's been known for the last year to do that and break loads of my vases. Oh actually as we speak he's up at the tv break and kicking a tennis ball around where did that come from.

Hope you enjoyed this and your valuable free time to

My lip filler experience

Hey guys  hope you are all well, and starting to enjoy the lighter nights, although tonight it's currently pouring down, so I thought I would fill you in on something I've had done, now my friends have been having Botox and things done to there faces for years and at the ripe old age of nearly 43 I've been lucky enough to not need anything like that done but recently whilst they were all having stuff done I thought I'd quite like a little filler to make my lips fuller but didn't want them to look huge.  Now my natural lips are a little wonky and quite thin on the top so I was hoping for a more fuller but natural lip.

The advice I would give is if you want something done research it first don't just jump in, the ladies that done mine are qualified nurses, I filled in paperwork including health questions, seen certification and had after care advice if you are not presented with any of these things I would think twice a cheaper offer may not be a sensible one.

So all in all my procedure took about twenty minutes where I was given a numbing block in my top lip, I am not keen on needles so I don't look. I close my eyes and think about nice things to take my mind off it all, once this is done the nurse goes ahead and injects the filler.  Now as I had explained the look I wanted she had she knew where to place the filler.  Once she was happy with this she moved on to the bottom lip and again applied the numbing block and proceeded to inject the bottom lip once the lip had numbed.

After she had finished they were swollen and they continued to be for about two days plus they do feel a bit weird like a bit rubbery but after that they do look much more normal, I don't think  they look huge well I don't think they do and I like the way they look with lipstick on, I don't wear Lipliner when they are like this as I feel they don't need anymore definition.

And this is my before and after pictures which they use on there website which I actually feel is quite nice, I know some people won't like them and that's ok.  If anyone wants to ask me anything I'm more than happy to help

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse

So back with a skincare post today this time I've been trying a range I have heard absolutely loads about but I didn't but mainly because I stuck to my usual brands, anyway I decided to give the cleanser a go, described as a balm and after using a balm before but from a different brand I figured I didn't have to much to lose.
Sarah Chapmans ultimate cleanse is designed to remove all traces of makeup and to leave the skin feeling soft and clean, the cleanser comes in a pump bottle which you literally press one pump into your palm and that is sufficient to use to cleanse your skin.
Ingredients include soothing omega-rich baobab and borage oils mixed with a dose of antioxidant vitamins A and E and precious white lily to boost collagen production. Also provided is a professional cleansing mitt which has two layers one side for exfoliation and one for removing eye makeup.

So as someone who wears a lot of makeup including foundation and bronzer and blusher and eye makeup I was interested to see how this balm would perform and would it get all this makeup off, well the answer is yes, you use the amount that the pump dispenses and massage gently into your face, the balm turns into a creamy milky formula which easily wipes and washes away.  My skin is left cleansed feeling clean and brighter and my pores felt clean and tighter.  I didn't feel that my skin felt tight or irritated but felt soft clean and looked healthy and if you end up with healthy clean glowy skin then that's a great basis for your day to start with, if your skin looks congested and blocked then your makeup won't look great and you won't end up having the best day because if your skin doesn't look great you don't feel great.

I love this cleanser it truly is lovely and luxurious my only criticisms are the price point it's not the cheapest (£40.00 100ml) and the packaging in my humble opinion could be a little better but I actually do believe it's what's inside that counts.

Garnier Miicellar Cleansing Gel Wash

Hey guys hope all is well, this week has been manic with half term and even though I've been in work and the kids have been off this week seems to have been really long and exhausting,,,anyway towards  the end of the week my favourite cleanser ran out with no warning as you can't tell how much is left as the bottle is green and you can't see inside, so I was thinking what I do now so a quick run to Boots and a scan of all the shelves and I still couldn't decide.  Then I noticed  the Garnier section had a third off all products so it's a win win.  I bought the new Cleansing Gel Wash and a huge bottle of Micellar bottle which literally was massive but it has to be as my daughter pinches it all the time.

The Cleansing Gel wash is new to Garnier and is an all in one cleanser which soothes the skin and removes makeup even on the lips and eyes.  Normally my daughter uses face wipes which I don't like so I bought two bottles of the gel wash for me and her.  I like the fact that the bottle has a pump on it as it's nice and hygienic and not only that as my daughter suffers from bad skin at the moment it's ideal for keeping more bacteria away from the skin. There is a sensitive skin version which I bought the two of and a normal version.  This product is unscented but yet fresh and leaves your skin feeling clean and not stripped or dry which I hate and has been known with products before.  My skin is oily and my daughters is sensitive and acne prone, so the results for both of us were good as neither were left feeling harsh,
Also it's worth noting myself and my daughter are both makeup junkies addicts full on we love makeup girls which means we both love our false eyelashes full face of makeup including glitter which can be an absolute nightmare to get off plus not only that when either of us give our faces a good full on cleanse we think that our skin is clean and wake up to the dreaded panda eye look in the morning gulp it's so not a good look. However after using this gel wash it didn't a really good job of getting rid of makeup including stubborn tough to remove makeup,  Tel gel turns to a lather and you normally only need about two pumps to give your face a good cleanse.

I am normally a high end skincare girl and my daughter a face wipe girl, I've encouraged her to ditch the wipes which she has and uses this, and I am now a convert to this as it comes in at a fab price and does an amazing job.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

I'm all about the glitter and sparkle and to be honest the sparklier and glittery the better, so when Stila launched there new range of eyeshadows they were heavily featured on many a bloggers instagrams and they were literally raved about I did think are they as good as the hype.  My other also fear was would the glitter literally give you the dreadful fallout and I would be forever scrubbing away through the day and the night under my eye trying to get rid of it and the other worry being a person over 40 was the glitter going to be a terrible no no full stop well let's see.

So there it us I bought Kitten Karma which is described as jewels for the eyes a perfect mixture of pearl and glitter to adorn the eyes with incredible luster and shimmer. Also described as lightweight
water infused formular which glides on effortlessly, dries down smoothly locking in sparkle with
minimal fallout.
So with that in mind I put this on this morning before going to watch football with my son just the right place to have a full on glitter eye ha ha and here we are.

So you can see I have kept most of my other makeup a lot more flat as I don't want to take anything away from the glitter and literally placed it on too of my eyeshadow which today was Mac Cranberry and Mac Antiqued.  I applied it all over my lower lid with the applicator in the bottle.

I also all applied a little bit by my tear ducts just to create a bit more drama I actually thought oh god what if I'm glittering so much il get him the face with the ball.

And this is me after football so looking a bit more shinier as I have oily skin and it's all still intact despite being at football being subject to freezing temperatures and having some funny glances at football I have no fallout whatsoever.  Normally you can also put glitter on and it can feel quite weird and scratchy to apply I didn't experience any of that.  It does feel wet to go on your eyelid but druse super quick plus I didn't get any transfer onto my upper lid from blinking or anything. Do I love it oh my god yes I really do, do I want the other colours yes I do.

Also is it age appropriate well I'm over 40 and I have it on, I actually really like it and yes I would wear it out for a night out of course I would, and there may be some skeptics who don't think it's suitable for someone my age and that's ok but I happen to enjoy a bit of glitter and as long as that makes a person feel happy and that's fine to.

Valentines Gift Ideas and Valentines Day as A Kid

Hey guys freezing day today been to my little mans football now wrapped up in the warm thinking about ideas for Valentines Day, I was really kindly sent a gorgeous little charm from tresorparis which is a red pair of ballet pumps and really really cute, I'd be happy with that as a gift they also have little flip flops and a stunning red stiletto which are priced between £14-19 which I have to say is very reasonable I am definitely going to buy the stiletto to complete the look on my charm bracelet.
I actually think it's quite difficult for men to buy their wives or girlfriends presents for Valentines Day as typically some may steer towards the safe chocolates and flowers but more is expected nowadays so a little gift like this is thoughtful plus a keepsake.

So what else could be nice as a valentines day gift well again it depends on budget but other ideas are perfume which is always nice,  a nice purse or scarf and my personal favourite very cliche but I love Lindt chocolates and they come in strawberry flavour which is literally amazing.  I like makeup as well and you can see from my photo I like a red lip sometimes to and my favourite Chanel red lipstick has had a battering and is nearly all gone.

So there really are so many cute little thoughtful gifts that you can get.  Ok embarrassing I know but when I was a child at school I used to get so excited for valentines day as I thought it was amazing and I used to every year run to the door to see if I would get any cards through the post but I never did, then I used to have a little butterfly in my stomach going to school praying I would get a card but I never ever ever did.  I was always so disappointed but looking back now I can clearly understand why I didn't, I had a boys crop for hair and terrible acne, and all the pretty girls and popular girls used to leave school practically needing a suitcase for all there balloons and gifts.  Good job later on I learnt how to deal with my hair and skin.  Nowadays I make sure I buy cards for my children as I know what it's like to feel left out and I love seeing there faces when they get a card, they make out that they don't like it and get all embarrassed but I know and can tell they secretly love it.

Happy valentines day all

Three of my top thickening texture products for hair

Hey guys hope your well, my little man is off on a school trip to London tommorow so I've sat by him on his bed as he has to be up really early and like me he's no fan of early mornings.  So I thought I would tell you some products I've been loving lately for hair when you need some volume and texture, if your a thick haired gal or guy you might still love these for texture but if your a fine flyaway type like me these may be perfect for you.  So if you read my blog regularly you may know I have had hair extensions for a while but I took them out myself to rest my natural hair.  I had a good cut on my real hair which I love so now it's just down to me and the products eek.

First I've been loving Kerastase Spray a Porter described basically as a sea salt spray yet this is not a typical salt spray where you could be left with that sticky gluey feeling in your hair.  This actually gives the texture you need and want but still allows your hair to move as it's not all clumped together, the formular is lightweight and also is combined with a heat protector so your getting the benefits of protection from your hairdryer and styling tools plus you get the finish you want.  To use I wash and condition my hair as usual and towel dry I lightly spritz the spray through my hair I then rough dry my hair with the drier and then I usually pull through some curls with either my straighteners or a curling wand. I like this as it offers the heat protection plus the wavy tousled effect on my hair that I
am currently wearing, for me this was a winner as sprays like this can often leave my hair feeling
horrible and really weighing my fine hair down but this didn't and it didn't make my roots feel greasy
either.  I'm sure if your lucky to have more fuller hair this won't need to help with volume but can
give you that beachy look.

Secondly another product I've been using is from Wella called Sugar Lift* now I happen to like this line and I love the classic sleek packaging! now again for fine flat hair this will and can be your new best friend it's currently mine if it's not been placed in hiding away from my daughters thieving hands with her lovely long full hair she tells me she likes the smell grrrr,  so again if I'm changing up my products I will wash and towel dry my hair and use this before styling along with a heat protector.
After my hair has dried I also use a bit at the root just for some extra sneaky volume and I feel like my full haired friends all bouncy for the day.  My daughter was right it does absolutely smell nice I cannot think of any negatives to say about this, it really is a must for creating lift and helps with texturised styles.

And lastly this one is from Aveda called Volumizing Tonic it actually looks and reminds me of something from the Pharmacy but don't be fooled, this little gem is typically Aveda in terms of plant extracts and is amazing for that fine fly away hair we are taking about.  Wash your hair and apply to the roots, only the roots and if your using a damage repair or heat protector use that at the ends and not where you have applied this. This is not a thickening treatment though I believe you can buy one from Aveda but this is the volume one and you certainly get volume, in truth for the first hour of going out I feel like my hair is huge and everyone is staring at it, but in reality of course it's not and it's not huge, it's just nicely volumised and bouncy which are two things I'm not used to with my hair.

So if your thinking of adding some sass and volume and or looking for a texure used look hopefully these reviews will help you to be able to make the most from your style.

Why I changed my blog name

Ok so a few have asked ok your still blogging but why have you changed the name from Liberty Loves Makeup to Alexa's Attic.  So Liberty is my daughters name so I felt that it was a fitting tribute to her that I named my blog after her plus the makeup side comes from my obvious love of makeup.  My only gripe in the name was if I was writing about skincare or hair it didn't reflect well in the title. I felt that this restricted a bit what I talked about and I didn't want to just be stuck talking about those things.  I do love them but want to be able to chat about allsorts.

So where did Alexa's Attic come from actually it was really easy and simple choice Alexa being my middle name and the Attic because I thought, in an attic you store all sorts of things and sometimes popping up in a attic it can be a bit like a treasure trove, so this was a good fit for me as I will be able to talk and chat about everything and won't feel that I am restricted to just certain things.  Don't get me wrong makeup skincare and hair are still going to feature really highly on the blog but there will be holiday stuff travel kids and all sorts so I hope that you will like it and follow my journeys with me.

Thanks for reading my post

Armani Power Fabric Foundation First Impression

Hi guys Hope you are all well,   I haven't bought a new foundation for ages I have had about 6 different bottles on the go with tiny bits left as sometimes you can't see how much is left in them and I've been rotating them but I actually thought enough is enough I need to get ordering a foundation.  I was going to stick to my old faithful ones that I normally get but I had watched a youtube video from Lydia Millen and she was using the Armani Power Fabric foundation and I liked the look of it and description.

So it came yesterday in lovely black packaging typically chic Armani, and the foundation itself is described as Long wear high cover foundation with an SPF of 25 which is amazing to protect your face from the damaging effects of the sun.  Described as lightweight a second skin finish but with full coverage.  There are 20 shades to suit all skin tones and the formula is adapted to deliver optimal coverage without cracking or dulling.  So is this true and how did it perform for me.

The shade I chose was number 4, I was a bit nervous as it's by no means a cheap foundation and I wasn't  going In to a store to get colour matched.  So I was thinking oh no what if it's too pale for me or what if it's too dark and I look like a Terry's chocolate orange and then what if it oxides in the day you know the usual worries so with all this  playing on mind I put it to the test this morning. Up early any blurry eyed for work here we go.

So here's my tired puffy 6am face which I prepped with a sweep of micellar water and my Kiehls moisturiser for my base, I put one pump of foundation on the back of my hand and then started to apply onto my face.  Application was fine you don't get a lot of stretch with the foundation due to the matte finish but I was ok with this considering I had just stuck to the one pump.  Easy to blend into my face and I was thrilled to see the colour match in my opinion was good for me.  My skin is oily to combination just for reference.  After I had applied the foundation there was a few minor areas that needed a bit more work but I could do this with concealer which was just by my nose.

Sorry about the lighting but it's not great at 6am plus I can't focus myself that early ha ha, but you can hopefully tell that the foundation has covered the redness in my natural skin and I think it gives a very good natural but effective look to the skin

And this is me en route to work this is just before 8am and I think that colour match wise this is good plus I think that the look is nice and natural,  I love the feeling of this foundation as it truly feels light and airy and my skin didn't feel cakey or heavy but actually light and fresh.  Now as it's matte your face can actually look quite flat so I have applied a small amount of my bronzer which today I used Bobbi Brown and I had my trusted Becca Highlighter on.  I feel this just gives the skin the glow I want, but if you don't like a glow you don't need to do this.  If your a fan of a glow you may favour Armani Luminous Silk, but in my opinion I much prefer this one, it does remind me of another of my favourites Double Wear but to me this is far better.

And here we are at 4pm I have no shine really on my forehead and I hadn't powdered either, the only powder i did was set under my eyes to prevent creasing which I used my Laura Mercier Loose powder.
So overall verdict is if you like a medium to high coverage foundation that feels light and airy with no glow then this is great for you.  If you prefer a more glowy complexion then Nars Sheer Glow may be more your bag or Armani Lumious Silk.  I happen to love this I didn't have any cakey flaky patches on my face.  And it did last me all day.  The only off putting factor is the price a jaw dropping £36 but we are talking Armani here plus as I only used a little bit it's sure to last me a while.

Hope you liked this post

Three days at Disneyland Paris

They say it's a kids dream to go to Disney but now I'm back I would say it's everyone's dream to go to Disney.  So let's get started on our trip, I've never been before and my children haven't either so I was desperate to go and to take them, so I booked it and didn't tell the children and surprised them by telling them a week before, why I did it a week before I'm not entirely sure because they literally couldn't sleep as they were so excited.  On the morning we went we had to get up at 5pm I couldn't sleep myself as I was so excited but did get up on time and then a mad rush to meet the coach as we were travelling to Paris by coach gulp.  I made sure I took plenty of snacks and iPads to keep the children entertained as the journey was estimated for 12 hours double gulp.  Actually it went really quick and we arrived at Disney, we checked in and I was staying  at Santa Fe Hotel.  Quick drink and we were out, it was quite cold and rainy but who cared as we were in Disney.

A quick stop in one of the Disney shops for accessories and we were off on a quick look at everything.

Anywhere else you couldn't get away with this look but at Disney anything is acceptable.  No amount of tiredness would stop any of us from staying out and exploring but we did need to go back to the hotel and we had a busy day ahead of us.  The next day we bounced between both parks universal and disney, as we had done a few fast passes, we wanted to get most of the big rides out of the way so we opted for Tower of Terror first, right now I queued for the ride and got to the top ready to go on and my nerves got the better of me so is linked off down the stairs I felt so gutted I couldn't do it.  My children came off bouncing and loving it.  So in my head I thought I need to do this ride at least before we leave.  The rest of the day we walked round trying to do as many things as we could and we did.  What we couldn't do we fast passed and had times to go back later in the day. After a really long but fun day we stopped for good in one of the many eateries in the park I can't remember the name but I know it was really expensive to eat there.  We then went and done our fast past rides which were Peter Pan and Pirates of the Carribean and then it was time for the wishes fireworks display.

I literally had a huge lump in my throat watching this as it really was one of the most magical things I've ever seen,  the children literally didn't speak but they were fixed on watching the fireworks.  To savour these moments I will never ever forget and I hope they don't either.   The next day again was a culmination of doing the rides that we hadn't done before so we did Ratatouille and I think it was one of my favourites it was amazing, and I would say if you are going and haven't gone before try your best to do it, it's visually amazing.  We tried to get back on it but it was so busy so I think other people had the same thoughts.  This time after we had done loads of rides we wanted to have a really good look in the shops as I wanted to buy some things to take home like mugs and presents and the obligatory fridge magets I couldn't help think how really expensive the shops were, lots of my friends told me it was and it really is but I was prepared for it.  I think it was the eating out that really was so so expensive but again people had warned me so I was prepared for that to.

The days literally flew I have never known days to go that quick before they certainly don't when your in work, but on the way home we were all really tired, but I just looked at my pictures on my phone and couldn't help but think what an amazing amazing time.  This picture was from one of the parades everything was fab to watch and there was no little detail that was missed everything was so perfect.  And back to the Tower of Terror ride did I go on it yes I did the next day after the one I was far too scared to go on, I literally thought if my children can then I need to not be a wuss, let's just say my heart was nearly in my mouth on it, and I thought I was going to fly our of the seat and out if the building but obviously you don't, it was such a thrill ride, but I am so glad that I did it, my children thought I was so brave and for ten minutes after I had been on it, I was like the coolest mum ever.  I am sure I aged 50 years on that though.

Would I go back yes I would go tonight I literally loved it, when people have told me before how good it was I thought ah can it really be that good, yes it literally can memories last forever,  the only thing I would say is eat savvy as it is very expensive to eat out.  Take snacks for the day for the park, I took a small Robinsons Squeezy which I could put orange squash in water so the children had plenty to drink.  Wear warm clothes layers are better, and take comfortable shoes as you walk non stop.

Hope you liked this post.

Algenist Anti Ageing Review

Hey guys bit of a skincare post which is one of my favourite things to talk about other than chocolate so as I'm heading into my 43rd year gulp I am really stepping up my skincare regime particularly when it comes to anti ageing.  I purchased a set from QVC called Algenist I had actually never heard of this brand before but figured after reading a lot of reviews this line would be right up my street.  So I bought the whole set on a easy pay option from QVC which basically means you get the whole lot and can pay it off in little bits each month.

So here is what I start with the Algenist Gentle Rejuvenating Cleanser in the morning, to apply I wet my skin and lather gently into my skin.  The cleanser is gentle yet effective and leaves my skin feeling clean but not dry.  The anti ageing factor in here is Alguronic Acid which is extracted from algae.  Algenist products are said to promote tight wrinkle free skin over time.  I actually like the
cleanser as I feel it's creamy and gentle to my skin doesn't leave it feeling dry but you do get the
feeling of tightening not in the drying sense but In a hopefully good way steering toward keeping the skin looking fresh and healthy.

After I have washed my face I never ever not use moisturiser so I use my Regenerative Anti Ageing Moisturiser.  A few people have complained they don't like the smell of this, I can give or take it, it's not floral or particularly over powering and not off putting in  my opinion but I understand some people prefer things or sometimes be fragrance free.  I think I would prefer a pump with the moisturiser as once you open the bottle I feel like a lot of ingredients will become less effective, but that said I love the fact the moisturiser is lightweight and sinks into my skin well, plus I like the fact that if I use the products in conjunction with each other.  I wake up in the morning and my skin looks glowy in the morning.  I apply this on my face and neck I sometimes forget to put moisturiser on my neck but I'm really trying to remember as I don't want a neck like a crocodile.  I don't use this every night I use this every other as personally I feel this suits my oily skin best.

And last but not least I absolutely love eye creams especially if they work.  The Algenist eye cream is rich and enriched with Alguronic Acid Vitamin C and Caffeine which added together are to combat puffiness and dark circles.  With a blend of Aloe Cucumber and Green Tea Extracts provide nourishment to the fragile eye area. I actually can use this morning and evening it's great as a primer to my eye area before makeup as yet it hasn't made my eye makeup run or move, but then i always use a loose powder underneath just for added protection.  It really Is one of my favourite eye creams as it's light and yet nourishing.  I don't suffer from dark circles yet as my sleep pattern is rubbish it is helping me with my bags.

Hope you enjoyed this post

Vicks Vapour Rub Things I Never Knew

So you may have noticed my little blog has had a few little changes and more obviously a new name, I will write a post telling you why and how I got the name soon.  I know this post is not makeup or hair related but another reason for the updated blog stuff I'm going to write about lots of different things but skincare hair and beauty are still my favourites,

Now you can see from my picture that my jar of Vicks is completely battered from regular use mainly for the children when they are full of cold I love it, rub it on there chests before bed so they can breathe more easily and also on the soles of their feet to also help with there breathing when they are blocked up through colds.  Now I had no idea on earth ever that you could use Vicks for anything other than that but I think I saw it in the Daily Mail that there was so many other uses.  Obviously  I'm not going to list and repeat like the paper but tell you a few uses that I am currently having a go with now.

First of all I use this on my feet, cringe you say and I hear you, but if you suffer from unsightly dry cracked heels which I do and I know it's vile, I blame my flip flops, but a few coats of this baby and shove your socks on off you go to bed and wake up in the morning and literally your feet really do soften and not only that but it does help the cracks.  Don't get me wrong they don't go away I am not actually sure of anything does make them go away but this certainly helps.  Yes it does smell but I like the smell I have had worse smelling treatments on my feet to help them and this is definitely nor one of them.  When you stick to it and use it regularly you absolutely do notice a significant improvement.

Now the next one I'm trialling is Acne, now I'm well away from my teenage years but my daughter isint she's 14 and really suffering from really bad acne at the moment I feel so sorry for her because it really knocks your confidence, I've been there and I know a lot of you will have to, other kids can be so cruel and she's been at the brunt of some vile comments, so after going to the doctors course of creams and anti biotics her poor face doesn't seem to be improving much, so at my wits end I did read that trying Vicks might alleviate the acne so I'm currently using this on my girl and I will report back to you as it's top early to let you know how it does.  I'm praying it actually does help.

Also I have read that Vicks is good for helping relieve migraines, and haven't tried this myself but if it works like it does on my feet I can imagine it may well be good.

So who knew a little bottle like this would have all these uses.

Oribe texturising spray review

Hey guys still no snow for us unfortunately how much of a little kid am I, but it is really freezing so after a little running round and picking kids up and dropping them off I having a herbal tea along with a chocolate biscuit so half healthy anyway.  Now onto the post my thoughts on the very popular Oribe
Texturising Spray.  I know this product has a bit of a cult status and a huge following so I kind of stayed away from it mainly for two reasons one being it's not very purse friendly coming in at £40 for a full sized bottle which is hairspray size and you can pick up a travel size which comes in about £20.
The product is described as an invisable dry hair spray which builds in incredible volume and sexy texture.  Patented polymers absorb oil at the roots, leaving you with just - styled hair for day and nights.

So you start off with instant high hopes as the reviews are primarily very good for this, cased in a sleek beautiful bottle with a classy design it's perfect for your dressing table, and looks extremely upper class to use.  So how to use shake and spray where you need lift and volume, I usually use mine on hair that is two or three days in between washes as that to me is the point of this, I spray at my roots where I need it, and rub into my scalp..  I don't get any white patches or flakes left after using this, I wear a lot of navy and black so trust me I would be going nuts if I was covered in that, so I'm thankful you don't get that.  The smell is lovely and unique which I like on my hair.  Also as I have fine limp hair I need a volumising boost and for me this does work, it really is as perfect as it looks.

It is very pricey and I know there are alternatives which work equally as good but if you can stretch to the price then why not we all like a bit of luxe in our life.

How to get a beach wave not curls

Hello guys well we have been forecast snow so I'm so excited to go to sleep as il be waking up like a loon to run to the window to see if we have any and then so disappointed if we don't. So eating a bounty cookie and writing at the same time.
Now if you know me I won't need to explain but if you don't, I had my hair cut into a pixie crop a year ago and have been growing it out frantically with the help of hair extensions which to date I still have in.  So for work I tie my hair into a loose bun but if I go out I like it wavy but not always curly, my niece is an amazing hairdresser and recommended to me to try the GHD hair curve wave wand.  I did think ok so the straighteners are literally amazing and like the Mercedes of hair straighteners so with that and my nieces recommendation I bit the bullet and bought them.

So this is what it looks like, mine is quite a small barrel and slims down to a point at the end, if you are a novice then I would recommend getting the heat protecting glove so you don't burn your hand.  It is actually easy to use once you decide what sort of wave you want.  As usual with heat appliances a heat protective spray is recommended, before you use.  So there you go make your way through your hair as you would with any kind of curling/wave tools and voila.  I use a heat protector spray at

the moment I have a GHD one and then once I have done my hair I spritz with ORIBE Texturizer as I
love it, it smells lovely and I like the way my waves fall once I have worked it through my hair.

Ooh look at the smily face not ha ha, but that is an example of the waves you get with this beauty I love it, though I did burn my hand once but that was my fault, the heat up is quick indicated by a little bleep when you turn the button on and likewise when you turn it off, there is also a little raised ridge on the tool so that when your not using it you can put in on a heat protector mat and it won't burn your carpet or where you leave it.

I hope you can get a better view of the waves on this picture, if your lightly spritz your hair with a decent hairspray you can get a good few days out of these waves and non frizzy to.

Hope you like this post and find it helpful

What I've been loving so far this year.

Happy new year beauts, I cannot believe we are in 2017 it's freaking me out but hey, I've spent today at football with my littlest and running round the other two, to meet with their friends I think I am officially a taxi, I'm more worried about how quickly they are growing up and don't need me so much.

Anyway back to the post, after christmas I thought I would round up things that I've loved and stood out to me over Christmas time and beyond into January, easily distracted today I keep looking at my living room windows wondering why there are no flashing fairy lights and realise my decs are down I miss my decorations.  So what have I liked this month well to start I really love the Palmolive new shower creams, I've got the Vanilla Pleasure one and I literally love this in the shower, I love the smell if you like vanilla then you will be a fan of this, if your not a vanilla fan then maybe not for you as the smell does linger on your skin after.  For me I found that the shower cream left my skin nice and soft so this is a winner for me bought it in on offer in Boots and it's so reasonable priced I know it comes in a chocolate version to, I would worry about this as I love chocolate so much I would be tempted to eat it and not use it in the shower, I'm not sure how I would find showering with a chocolate scent but that being said I haven't tried it so I can't knock it, though I would have difficulty going to sleep after showering with this on as I would want to go and get a bar of chocolate.

Next on the list is a product from Revlon which I am loving so much used it loads in December and I'm raving about it,   As a big fan of false eyelashes you need a decent glue, I had read good reviews about the Revlon precision clear lash adhesive so I bought it to try myself, it reminds me of a watered down Tippex the application is the same but on your eyelashes not to blot out mistakes, I found it so easy to apply, and my eyelashes stay put all night, and you cannot beat that on a night out thank god.  You don't get the dreaded curl up on the end of your lashes either so I'm definitely repurchasing this.

Onto lip gloss this is not a new find to me it's something I love and cannot be without although shamed to say I had ran out of it.  It's the Nars Chelsea Girls lip gloss, which the colour I absolutely love it's amazing.  I used to have it in a pot which I used with a lip brush to apply, but I now have it in the lipgloss with the applicator version and it's much easier to use. The colour is such a nice natural nude plus I find the gloss doesn't dry your lips out or leave your lips with the dreaded gloppy feel.

Pureology is the next now I bought this shampoo and conditioner as it's free of sulphates and rubbish that your hair doesn't benefit from, I still have extensions in after having my initial set in last year although I've had them cut up to shoulder length.  I have found this set lovely and moisturising for my hair, I have read a lot of people have commented they don't like the smell, I actually don't mind it, it's not over powering at all, it is expensive but on the plus you only need to use such a small amount  so you do get value for money unless your daughter uses the conditioner to put on her legs before shaving them grrrrrr.

Lastly but not least a product I've never owned or tried before Oribe Dry Texturising Spray this has got a cult following but the price point has put me off before, for a full sized bottle you are looking at £41 which is expensive for a Texturizer however I picked it up in the tiny travel sized size and I love it.  I have a mid length tousled style so this spray is perfect for me as in between washes I spray a little and scrunch into my hair and I have a nice manageable unfrizzy  tousled wave, trust me to like something that's price point is out my range at the minute, but I can say it's a fab product.

Hope you liked my round up of things I like so far.

Where have I been

Hello lovelies well first of all I don't know what to say, I've been absent for my blog for a couple of months which you may or may not have noticed, I have really missed it though.  I have been on twitter a bit and Instagram but I wasn't in a good place to commit to my blog and I didn't think it was fair to update it when my heart wasn't in it.  To cut a long story short I've been really unwell and in a terrible headspace and I couldn't get myself out of it.  However it's a new year and I've sought a lot of help to get myself in a good place not just for me but my little ones to.  I absolutely love blogging to and I generally really have missed it.  It literally is the only hobby I've stuck at well apart from this little couple of months.

My photography still need a lot of help and I'm trying to up my game on all this, as I read other blogs and think oh my god I absolutely love these pictures, I don't compare mine at all as I really can't (laughing) but I will get myself there.    So this year I'm determined to work harder with my little blog and try and get myself in a good place mentally to keep myself well, I know that a lot if you readers suffer from anxiety and depression and know how awful it can be.  But the good thing is you can and do come out the other end.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and happy new year
